Quick question from a first time car renter at Disney. We saved $500 by flying in to Tampa rather than Orlando. We plan on driving to Disney from the airport. Where in Disney would we drop off that is the closest to Caribbean Beach?

Closest would probably be Alamo/National at the Dolphin, but most convenient might be Alamo/National at WDW Car Care Center because they will shuttle you to your resort. With the Dolphin, you could always drop off the car, walk to DHS and take a bus back to CBR.

Other possibilities--all at DTD hotels are Avis (Hilton). Dollar (Wyndham), Budget (Doubletree). With these, you could drop off car, walk to DTD and take bus to CBR.

Since it's all about equal, I would look for one that had the best rate, i.e. no 1 way fee.

I'm assuming that you are flying back home from Tampa so why don't you keep the car the entire trip? Many times it's almost as cheap and you can come and go as you please.

I did look at keeping the car the entire time but in this case it was cheaper to do two one-way trips. It's close to $400 for the week or just a little over $200 for the two one-ways.

I booked via Alamo from Tampa to the Disney Car Center. I figure that's the closest I'll get.

Also if anyone else is looking you can use the coupon: SUNPROMO to get a slight discount.

If you rent a child car seat, do they have it pre-installed or do you have to do it?

They have a big stack of them out in the parking garage. You grab one and install it yourself.
