Just booked a seven day four hour full size (Chevy Imapala) car rental through Avis with the following code: K199060 for $308.10 out the door total. Went though the website www.rentalcodes.com and shopped around the car rental companies. After much searching this has been the best deal I could find for us for a full size car (would much rather prefer a SUV, but prices way too high for us this time). Thought this info may help someone who is looking. Good luck!

I have a standard SUV booked for August 1-8 using the same code (got it off mousesavers) and the total was 339.20 out the door. I did this a month or so ago. Today I was on their website and found a $35.00 coupon off weekly rental, so I modified my reservation and added the coupon. It accepted it and gave me a new confirmation showing rate as 339.20 with coupon to be subtracted at the counter. This will bring my SUV rental to 305.00. On Avis you can use both the code and the coupon. You can find the coupon code right on the website. This will make renting an SUV about the same price.

We got a mini van from Dollar for 8 days. Total with taxes and fees $317. I grabbed it since National and Alamo wanted over $600 before taxes and fees.

we used the ooag code at dollar and got a full size for 8 days in nov for around 275 hope this helps

I'm not sure if this will help, but I just booked a compact for a week in November (Dollar) using the KISS code for 217.00. I tried several Alamo and National and they were well over 300.00

The best deals I have found so far for the two rentals we will need for our Aug 18th - Aug 27th (9 days) was through Dollar.
Mini Van: with corporate number SW2358 (for Southwest customers/rapid rewards)
$258.50 per week, $47per day for 2 days
subtotal: $352.50
including all taxes and fees $454.66
Mid-size: with code OOAG (I think it is FL visitor center)
$189 per week, $35 per day for 2 days
subtotal: $259
including all taxes and fees $345.32

I'm still looking to see if I can find better at the last minute, but if not these will have to do.

Thank you for posting the SW code information. I have been trying to rent a minivan for late August/Sept. using the OOAG code without good results - the SW code gave me a rate of $338.25 total. Not as good as my Alamo rate with a questionable rate code - but a good back up plan.

Does Dollar ever have any coupons?

I went onto southwest and I could get a minivan in later August for $396 including taxes for 9 days with is one of the better rates I have been getting I used the
SW2358 code.

Now, they do want a creditcard to hold it through sw, If i find a better deal in the next few weeks can I cancel this car reservation or am I locked in??

Your CC is just a guaranty. Meaning you will have a car if you show up. If you don't show and you didn't cancel your reservation then they will likely charge a no show fee. There may also be a limit on to when you have to cancel. For example, 48 hour advance cancellation. Cancel after that and pay a fee also.

Thank you Cathy for posting the Avis code. I got an unbelievable rate of $253 for Christmas week for a full size! Anybody know how Avis is? We've never rented from them before.

Go right to Dollar and use the SW code - you won't have a CC guarantee.

There is also a 35.00 dollar off a weekly rental on their website and it is good through 12/31. If you go to avis sight put awd k199060 and coupon code of MUWA003 your reservation will show your rate and then it will show that there is still a coupon to be subtracted at time of rental. Hope this helps

Thanks for this! I had the code, but added the coupon tonight for my Oct. trip. Even moving up to a compact from sub-compact, I still saved $23.

There isn't a coupon to print, right? They will know to take it off my bill?

when it says this how much do you know they will take off at the counter. You get an estmated price but that doesn't really tell you the final total price does it?

There is no coupon to print. It is one of the specials listed on their website, so I assume they will no what to subtract at the counter. If you want to make sure, you might go to their website and on the front page click on 35.00 off weekly rental. It will then give you all the details including the code you used. Print this page and take with you. This may help ease your mind. My rental is in August, so I will let you know how it goes.
