Car rental closest to POR

We will be renting a car when we leave WDW for a one-way rental to Fort Lauderdale. I would like to rent from a convenient office near Port Orleans Riverside. Is the Car Care Center nearby, or are there more convenient locations? Does anyone have the Car Care Center phone number? I have read about a shuttle from on-site hotels to the Center - is this WDW Transportation or something else? Is there a charge? I am trying to avoid having to go to the airport to pick-up the car. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

There are car rental desks at almost all of the Downtown Disney hotels. (The non-Disney ones) You could easily send someone from your party on a bus to the marketplace, and just walk to hotel where the rental desk is.

Here's the breakdown for you:

Courtyard by Marriott: Dollar
Doubletree: Budget
Grosvernor: Thrifty
Hilton: Avis

I don't know about the car care center, but I hope that helps.

I did a little digging and found that there is a National as well as an Alamo at the Car Care Center. I also found out that the Car Care Center is near the Magic Kingdom.

National provides a shuttle to the car care center for emerald club members. Other than that, I can't find anything about shuttles.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question. From your information it looks like I will be better off renting from a Downtown Disney hotel. This is very helpful information.
