Car Rental at Sanford

I have seen a list of car rental agencies at Sanford airport. It looks like all of the major companies are available. Are the rental places at the airport or do you need to take a shuttle to get to any of them? If so, which ones are onsite and which ones are away? Thanks!

All of the car rental counters are just around the corner from the luggage pick up area. Alamo is the only exception(or at least they were the last time I rented from them) they are a short walk from the terminal. Very user friendly airport.

Budget is not on site, they have a shuttle to take you to the location which is on 17-92, about 5 minutes away.

We used National/Alamo it was onsite. One suggestion I would like to give you if you able to send a member of your party to the rental counter & other to baggage. At Sanford because there is not DME on our plane i would say 90% were renting a car so the rental area gets crowded. We loved flying into sanford.

Budget is not on site, they have a shuttle to take you to the location which is on 17-92, about 5 minutes away.

I was able to use Budget onsite. They were located right next to the National area, just outside the baggage claim at Sanford. Then, I walked across the street and picked up our car. Easy. Of course, they did try to tack on an addl fee.
Used National last month...very easy as well.
