Car rental at airport or Disney?

We are flying in, spending the night at Disney, and then driving somewhere in the morning. I am debating between renting a car at the airport or taking ME to the resort and renting a car either that night or the next morning before we leave around 10:00. We are just going to hang around the resort and aren't going to any parks--may go to DD. Any opinions on which way would be easier?

I rented a car from Dolphin (Alamo/National) and found it very easy to pick-up and drop-off the car. The only drawback is that to get/return the car you have to go to the valet station, which might take a few minutes (we waited about 10 minutes for them to retrieve our car).

I suppose it's largely a matter of price and convenience. I've heard that car rentals are cheaper from the airport than on property, but it got me out of having to drive for MCO to WDW, so that was a plus to me.

Pricing varies between renting at airport and on-property. Sometimes the airport is cheaper, sometimes on property is cheaper. I prefer just to get the car and go, I'm not a big bus fan so I'd just rent from the airport.

The other problem with renting on-site is you need to check to see if renting at the airport the night before when you arrive gives you a better weekly rate (based on number of days) or Saturday arrival rate (often cheaper if you keep over a Saturday) then if you wait until the next morning which will cut the number of days down and you may miss out on a discount/rate class.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. I'm actually only renting the car for one day and I'm dropping it off somewhere else. I'm going to check the rates out and if it's the same, might take the chance and just pick the car up somewhere in Disney. I did a little more searching and found out that some rental places will bring the car to you. That would be great!
