Car rental and DME

If I rent a car at the airport, can I still use DME to get my luggage to CBR? Will they count us "absent" if we don't show up to get on the bus?

We always use DME and get a rental car. However, we get pick our rental from the Dolphin after using the DME and return at the Dolphin before using the DME for the return back to the airport. Maybe you should consider doing that? It works out really well!

Thanks Klynn! No, the Dolphin won't work for me because we are needing the car to get us to the Port terminal after WDW. Good to know I can use if for my luggage though!

1. "Magical Express is not a baggage only service."

2. Yellow tagged baggage is summarily removed to the resorts unsynchronized with guest movements.

3. Non-DME guests (defined as those who did not ride the bus) may have missing-baggage claims made at the resort denied.

4. As it is generally impossible for the guest to intercept yellow tagged baggage at the airport before 10 PM, should you change your mind about the bus at the last minute, you should go to the DME welcoming area to get instructions on how to proceed.

You use DME to get to your resort, then head over to the Dolphin the day before you need to get to port. You can do that on an Epcot or DHS day...that's what we do. If you aren't using Alamo/National, you can head to DTD and use one of the car rental companies that are based in the hotels in that area. Budget is located at the Doubletree and will actually send a car for you to get you to their office if you want.

We're renting from Alamo at the Dolphin in August for exactly the same reason- DH wants nothing to do with our baggage after getting so spoiled with ME!
