Car rental additional daily fee

I'm on the national site and finding some decent rates, but then looked at the fine print
A standard additional daily fee of $25.00 applies in most locations (except in New York, the fee is up to $70.82)

Is this true? That fee more than doubles the cost of my rental car quote!

The only fine print I saw that stated this is "All Customers Between The Ages Of 21 And 24 Renting At Corporate Locations Will Be Charged A Standard Additional Daily Fee Of $25.00 (except In New York, Where The Daily Fee Is $49.37). " If you're not under 25, this charge doesn't apply to you.

If you're under 25 and work for a big company see if they have a corporate code with a rental car company. Frequently the underage fee is waived and the code can be used for leisure rentals.

Otherwise you're better off staying at a WDW resort, use DME and take an occasional cab if necessary.

Thanks for explaining. I thought that sounded very odd.

Unfortunately, I am not under 25 However, I would gladly pay $25/day to be under 25 years again for a while

Fortunately, my car rental cost is cheaper.

Well, I bet if you tell the Agent at the National rental counter that you want to pay the extra $25 a day because you feel under 25, they won't refuse your money
