Captain Jack Meet & Greet?

Has anyone heard if Captain Jack will become a permanent Meet & Greet character yet??

Hi all! Is he only out at the Pirate and Princess parties? My DSs would love to meet him, well me too! TIA

The meet and greet has started. We were there Sept 10-18. We were the 2cd people in line to do this. It is right across from the Swiss Family Tree House, right where you buy the Dole Whips. It is pretty neat!

To answer your question: No, it hasn't been announced yet if it will become permanent.

We were at MK in mid Sept. and meet JS got autographs, pictures.
The Meet and Greet was across from POTC ride in a room which might be part of that resaurant
"El Pirate" or something like that (the resaurant was closed).
This was the highlight of our trip, it was so much fun!
Boy the CM that played Jack looked so much like JD it was
amazing! He even sounded like him, he was good!!!
There was a Sign stating "MEET JACK SPARROW" so we did!!
COOL!!!

We met him too, and the photopass photo is cool - is shows up with a neat border and design........anyway CM said it was a test and not sure if they would keep it.

One question... why on earth would they NOT keep it? A Jack Sparrow meet and greet is probably more popular than Mickey bars!

I'm hoping they keep it! DSs would be ecstatic to meet him! I think that would be the highlight of the trip, for DD and me too!

Keeping fingers crossed they at least "test" it through the end of the year!

It may be a more difficult one to cast as that character is so distinguished in the pantheon of greats! (Own Personal Opinion!)

On a Side Note: The actor who plays him in the Pirate school is GREAT! We asked a CM if we could do a Meet and Greet in May and it wasn't in the contract they had with the actor through equity, so I am not sure if this is the same gent or not.

For those who met him in September, I was under the impression (from posts I read here on DIS) this was only a temporary trial M&G in September. I hope he's back when we go next month!

We were just there on Monday, and I went over to the area where the Dole Whips are. There was a line for some other characters there, so I asked the CM about Captain Jack. She said it was just temporary, for September, and that she didn't know if/when he would be back. We were so disappointed that we were just a few days late! Sorry about that for all you other Captain Jack fans!

We went to the MNSSHP that night and didn't see him out then- except for during the parade. They are still doing the Pirate Tutorial at various times throughout the regular park day- we saw that yesterday (Wednesday the 10th).

I met him on DCL, but not at WDW. The pirate tutorial was great, I hope that stays around for a while too.

I'm in the World right now, and we were in MK yesterday and they are still doing the meet and greet with Jack. My DD's were getting all dolled up at MK's BBB. We sent my brother to scout it out and he confirmed with a CM, but unfortunately were unable to get there, because of the BBB.

He gave me a naughty look and said, "The kiddies come for the autographs, but the mummies come for the Captain."
I replied, "All the mommies love Captain Jack."
