I really noticed this on the 2nd watch and it struck me as a terrible plot device of news reports to catch the audience up to speed on all the characters and previous movies. The worst was when they had a news report talking about Ross heading to Japan when they just went over why he was doing that in the very last scene. I think this is a lot like what Netflix is supposed to start doing where they're reminding the audience over and over what's happening because people now watch stuff half paying attention.I thought it would've been more of an impact to have his daughter show up and talk him down, I also hated how the dialogue seemed to be focused on explaining to the audience what was happening why it happened and what happen to get us to this point. I'd def put it in the bottom tier of MCU movies
I also have higher hopes for Thunderbolts and FF. I wish they would've given Anthony Mackie a better script and plot to work with. It had the bones of a good movie but it was just pieced together to be really good.
