They have 3 snorkel trips: all day, 1/2 day, and I believe a 2 hour. Which one do you all do?

We did the half day 3 stop tour and loved it. We snorkled 2 reefs and went to String Ray City. We left the ship around 9:30 am and just walked down to Capt. Marvins check-in area. About a 5 min. walk from the end of the pier. After checking in we had a short wait, which we used to scope out the surrounding shops. Then we were put on an air conditioned bus, and brought to the dock, with a quick stop outside the Govenors residence. The driver was very nice, giving us a mini-tour, and passing along some helpful hints about our upcoming adventure. (The ride to the dock was less then 15 minutes)We got back to the dock at about 2pm. The bus was there to take us back within 5 minutes. And we were back on the Magic by 3 pm.
Hope this helps.
Have a Great time!

we did the 10:15-1:15.. but be prepared it took about an hour longer.. they are just great!!

We have younger kids (6 and 7) so we opted for the 2 hour trip. They all sound great, so pick whatever one fits your schedule the best. Enjoy.

Question for those that have done Captain Marvins: One family in our group is booked for the 8:30 trip. Since we are scheduled to arrive in GC at 7:00 a.m., I assume that they will have enough time to make it to Captain Marvin's by 8:00, as suggested on CM's website. Has anyone ever done the 8:30 trip? If so, did you have to rush! Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

We were just on Capt Marvin's Tour. We took the 2 hour stingray tour. We were on the

Carnival Inspiration on the october 5 - oct 12 2003 western itinerary.

The stingray swim was awsome. The crew was great. I was with my wife and 8 year old daughter. She is a good snorkeller. If you want a good set of equipt for kids , I purchased mine here at Costco in Canada. It has a valve in the snorkel which prevents water from going into your mouth when you go underwater. The crew was great with all the passengers (15 -20) especially with the kids. The pilot of the boat let all the kids steer the boat on the way back to shore. On our tour we had a diver who videotaped the whole tour which you can purchase (video or DVD) I purchased a copy and received it about 2 weeks later ( still waiting for postcards we sent HA! Ha!0
When you return to Capt Marvin"s each adult gets a rum cake for free and 10% off on all purchases in the store. We took the 2 hour tour so we could have more time to spend in Grand Cayman.

Also we booked the tour over the internet and they were very helpful.

If your ship does not get into Grand Caymen due to weather they do not charge you.

Good luck and have a BLAST!!!!!

I would be leary of the earliest trip. Tenders do start for DCL excursions first. Although we were ashore by 9am and did not rush... Captian Marvin's was just amazing.. the rum cake thing must be new as last December they didn't do that but I would use them again regardless in a heartbeat!

We did the half day trip and loved it, it was the highlight of our cruise. I do want to mention, tho, that our tablemates did the full day and had a wonderful time, they left a little earlier (tho we got to Capt. Marvins at just about the same time) and got back about an hour later. They'd had a lovely BBQ on the beach and some time there in addition to the three stops, oh, and a stop to dive for conch. I am seriously considering this one for our next cruise.

We went out on the first trip of the day. No problems at all getting a tender or walking over to Captian Marvins. Truthfully I thought it was the highlight of the trip. I told my husband that it was a perfect time and meant it. It was so hot that I was glad we had gone so early. The other good bit as we were there on the first trip it was only our party on the boat.

Loved it! Mean it!

Our 8 & 6 yearolds will be fin on the boat. What do you think about bringing our 3 year old boy? He won't be getting in the water (he will want to though, so maybe), but were there any young kids on the boat, and how did they do?

On our trip with Capt Marvin's one couple had a 5 or 6 month old baby. No problem.

They also took him into the water to touch the stingrays.

I don't think you will have a problem with your child.

Well we signed up for the 1/2 day today for all 5 of us on Jan 6.
