Cape May & Epcot: Can I get to HERE from THERE?

I made a 9:45 breakfast ADR for Cape May on a morning that Epcot opens at 8, thinking that we could get to Epcot, perhaps go on Soarin' and get a FP and then head over to Cape May for breakfast.

However, I realize now that I was thinking of DHS and the nice boat that goes from there to the Boardwalk hotels and onto Epcot. I read on DIS somewhere that there is no bus from DHS or Epcot to Beach Club and that you need to take a boat.

So we would need to catch that boat that docks at the World Showcase and take it over to Cape May. Although the World Showcase doesn't open until 11 a.m., can I assume that the boat service starts in the morning so we can catch the boat from there to Cape May?

Also, I'm thinking I should allot about 15-20 minutes to get from Epcot to Cape May on the boat. Is that about right?

I believe you can go thru WS and exit thru the International Gate, you can catch the friendship boat there or walk to Cape May. Things will be coverd up/closed in W/S..but you can still walk around as far as I know. Yeah, allow 20 minutes. The walk is not bad, but if it happens to be raining you may want to take the boat. No worries, enjoy your breakfast!

In most cases and if you are able, I would say walking will be faster. The boat stops at the Boardwalk before the Beach Club. And moving out of Epcot about 20 minutes before should be enough time, though you may need to wait at Cape May to be seated. Leave Epcot when you're ready.

Unless you have a hard time walking, definately walk to BC from Epcot. Don't take the boat. It is a very short walk.

Thanks for the info. We took this route last year from DHS to Epcot, and while it seems like it took a while to finally get to the Boardwalk area hotels, I'm not clear on how short a walk it was between the hotels and the WS boat dock. How many minutes walking time would you estimate? Thanks!

When we stayed at the Beach Club it was much quicker to walk from Epcot than to take the boat.

From the IG out to Epcot resorts, the walk to Cape May is about 5-7 minutes.

I totally agee with this time estimate. When you exit the International Gateway stay to your right and you will be at the Beach Club in no time. It makes no sense taking the Friendship boats as the dock for the Yacht Club/ Beach Club is near the Yacht Club. Simply take the 5 - 7 minute walk.

I was thinking the same thing. We stayed at BC in December and it took us no time to get to IG. You should not have to take the boat at all, you will be surprised at how close IG is to BC (I know I was ).
