I'm taking my annual solo trip in October and I'm thinking that I'd like to try some restaurants that I've never been to either with or without my husband.

Has anyone traveling alone eaten at the Cape May Clam Bake and if so how was your experience? I have no problem eating alone but I usually know the restaurant and I've don 't know this one.

Thanks....:thumbsup2

I have ate at the Cape May Clam Bake on two different occassions with my husband. The first was on our honeymoon in '06 and it was fantastic! We had the free dining plan and were advised to try the restaurant out by a castmember at the Carribean Beach Resort we were staying at.

We came back for another trip in the summer of 07 and went back to the CMCB and it was just as good.

There was lots of selection and the food was fresh.

Thank you for your reply. ;)

I'm still interested in hearing from anyone who has eaten there "alone" and hear about their experience. I'm really considering toing there on my October solo trip! :)

Well, although I haven't eaten there solo YET, I also have a solo trip planned in October, and unless I meet a friend there for dinner, I'll eat there solo. Come [ahem] or high water, I AM going to eat there this trip!

I'd say let's meet for dinner but somewhere else on the board I remember seeing that you and I just miss eachother!! I arrive 10/10 and leave 10/16.

Scratch what I said....found the thread. You and I have one night together! :rotfl: October 11th....If you'd like to meet for dinner over at Cape May PM me. If not I totally understand and no worries!!!:thumbsup2

Sorry, I just changed that. I'm leaving BCV 10/9, moving over to a value studio at AKV. Two reasons for this-
1. I know I'll need some rest after the F&W for a week, and I can think of nothing better than a good book in the little room off the lobby at AKL
2. Value studios at AKV have much lower points-by moving over there, I can stay for more days on the same # of points as at BCV!

If you don't mind letting me/us know how you liked Cape May as a "solo" diner when you come home I'd greatly appreciate it. I'm strongly considering going in October for my annual solo trip. This is one location I've never eaten in!

I ate there solo for my birthday. I didn't have any problems the waitstaff were very attentive. My sister even had a suprise bithday cake delivered to my table the waitress and the near by tables even sang hanppy birthday to me. No problems going solo give it a try.

Thank you very much! I've added it to my list of restaurants for October. :thumbsup2

You'll love it! I ate there solo in January last year. I chose a buffet so I could get up and help myself whenever I wanted and not look 'alone' through the whole meal. It didn't bother me at all. The waitress was very attentive, gave me a booth in a corner out of the way when she knew I was alone so I could people watch and I was able to write in my journal in between courses.
The desserts are fabulous - make sure you have an oreo dessert, you'll want to stash a few in your bag (I didn't, but I sure wanted one again later when I wasn't bursting at the seams from my dinner!).

Now I'm really anxious to go there!! I don't mind eating alone at all. When I made my first solo trip without my husband I was a little anxious about dinner time and after the first meal all those anxious thoughts were put to bed. I don't know if it's my imagination or what but it seems that servers are extra nice to people eating alone.

Thanks again!!
