Cape May Cafe for Breakfast

I have let my family talk me out of this ADR for our upcoming trip. But it appears that we are going to be able to book an afternoon flight out on Saturday instead of early morning. So I'm thinking I could slip it back in. What are thoughts on this character breakfast? Are the characters cute dressed up? What type food is it? Buffet, family style?

Last time I went (several years ago) the characters were dressed in a beach theme - it was cute. It was very cute!

It is a buffet - standard breakfast fare. Eggs, waffles, fruit, bacon, etc.

I made an ADR for my son and I for our last meal on our next trip.

We had breakfast there in December and we really liked it. In some ways, we liked it better than Chef Mickey's. It was quieter and had a slower pace that was more relaxing and fun. Goofy, Minnie and Chip and Dale were there in their beach clothes. We had a really wonderful waitress named Dorothy who was very good about refilling drinks. She also spent some time chatting with us and the family next to us. She was scolding Dale for letting Chip pick on him and told him to stand up for himself. The food was good - mostly standard breakfast buffet stuff. I would definitely have breakfast there again.

I wonder if that's the same server I had, Dorothy? Actually, she wasn't my server, but she kept stopping to check on me-I was solo, and I think she wanted to keep me from getting lonely. What a sweetheart she was!

To the OP, we love Cape May. It's our traditional last morning breakfast. The buffet is huge, so we really stuff ourselves-you never know with airlines today what/if they're going to feed you!

Thanks for the replies! If I am able to get an afternoon flight out on Saturday I will book that for our last meal! I really wanted to do this one and O'Hana with Lilo and Stitch. Didn't let them talk me out of that one!

Cape May is our traditional last meal @ WDW.... we always stay at the YC/BC anyway, but we always end our trip with breakfast there before departing for the airport..... it's always a hit! Goofy, Minnie, Chip and Dale wear their beach attire.

We also really enjoy Cape May's character breakfast. We've done it at least three times. I love the characters in their beach wear - so cute! The buffet is large with a good assortment to please everyone.

Loved it!!

It's a buffet...fruit, waffles, eggs, bacon, etc.

The characters are so cute!

We had a 9:30am ADR, arrived 5 minutes early, & were seated right away.

We LOVE this place and make sure to eat here on every trip. Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale in their bathing suits are so cute. The food is awesome and there is plenty of fresh fruit which is a must for me.

Ohhhh, I'm glad to hear the good reviews! This one is on our list of ADR's to make. (We can't make them yet -- our trip's not until May!!)

We loooooved Cape May breakfast. We made it our last meal right before hitting the road on Saturday. The food was great, a wonderful laid back atmosphere, and I loved the parfait bar! Heads and shoulders above Chef Mickeys, IMO. Then again, we were all very unimpressed with CM, but thats another story!

As long as all of you have park passes, you can walk thru International Gateway to get to Future World....we did this several times about 2 weeks ago.

Our children are adults now, but my wife and I still love having breakfast at Cape May. The meal is always good, and the atmosphere is quieter than most character meals. We highly recommend it.

Cape May is our favorite character meal - great selection, good staff, great character interaction. Very laid back fun atmosphere.

Dorothy C from NY is a AWESOME server!!! I always ask to be seated in her section - she is worth the wait. She is off on Mondays and Tuesdays I believe.

I get to have my birthday breakfast there on 9/1 - can't wait!

Another vote for Cape May ! We'd had dinner there a few times but did the breakfast for the first time about 10 days ago. We had wanted 1900 Park Fare, but they were closed for rennovation. Had a real positive experience at Cape May---lots of character interaction even though my kids are teens. Loved the yogurt bar too !

I have just booked a character breakfast at Cape May's in December, it is our first attempt at a character breakfast and we were looking forward to going to Chef Mickey's. Cape May's was the only place not booked for our time there. I am thrilled with the critiques about the place and am truly looking forward to it!

I think we will book this for our first morning (early) and then we can stroll over to Epcot afterwards - always wanted to go - have never quite got round to it.
