Does anyone have any suggestions on the cheapest way to do a whale watch on Cape Cod? We will be there at the end of July I've checked the prices out online but I was hoping someone could suggest a coupon.
Thanks

Most of the Chambers of Commerce will have coupons at their information booths. I'm not sure where you are staying but the boats out of Provincetown almost always have coupons at the information booth in Eastham which is just past the Orleans rotary on Route 6 East (The road is not divided so if you miss it you can turn around and go back).

Another way you might get coupons is to write to the tourist information boards and chambers of commerce in the Cape Cod area. Many of them will send out packets of information that include coupons if you sign up. Here's the link for Eastham Chambers of Commerce.

I just signed up to get the book myself as we're going there in a few weeks :cloud9:

Don't know about the coupons...but we've taken Captian John's boat 3 times for a whale watching trip & LOVED it!

I believe the website has coupons.

Thanks we are staying in Eastham. Do you need to make reservations in advance or just show up?

I'd recommend making reservations in advance just because getting there is about a half hour to 45 minute drive depending upon traffic and where you are staying in Eastham, i.e., Town Cove or Boatmeadow Beach areas vs say Sunken Meadow area, and you wouldn't want to drive that far for nothing, though P-town is a great adventure in and of itself. (While you are there don't miss Pilgrim Monument the view of the area from the top is spectacular.)

But, based on DH & DS's experience a couple of years ago I'd bet you could probably wait until the day before to call; they and 10 other people walked up to the kiosk on the wharf in the AM and got tix for the late PM trip.

When picking the time for your trip I would allow extra time for finding parking and walking to the Wharf.

Thanks for the info 3boymthr. I have actually been in the Pilgrim Monument a long time ago as a teen. I remember being hot and grouchy maybe it would be good to give it another try

Don't forget to bring warm clothing. The weather may be nice when you start out, but once out on the ocean and once the sun goes down later in the day it gets very cold. I speak from experience!
