Can't Plan for Baby? Better Plan for Disney! -- PTR

Sounds like fun. I have a little spiral notebook with my calculations in it… :thumbsup2 Mine aren't as hefty as yours, but still! :goodvibes

It would be fun if we were there at the same time! We are booked for WDW Oct.12-17, 2013!

Can't wait to hear your plans!!!

Sounds like some good plans, the possible dates look good too. Great job saving up SW points! Free flights are great! :thumbsup2

Hi Paula! I'm finally all caught up! :goodvibes I am loving all of the budgeting topics. Disney math - my favorite! :lmao: For the resort, I think I would go with AoA, unless you could do a deluxe with two adults in each room. I think it would take something away from the trip if you and your DH didn't get to stay together (same with your sister and BIL). If I'm remembering correctly AoA and deluxes sleep the same number, but I think that extra bathroom at AoA would be nice. Plus, I think the kids would love the theming! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear the numbers you came up with for the packages. It sounds like you guys are going all out, so they should be interesting! :rotfl:

I'm having a brain fart, was it you looking for the 50000 point SW offer?!?!?! BC It's out again! YAY! Just got a card for my DH! That's enough points for about 2 more trips to disney next year! :cool1:

Your plans are looking great!

Thanks! We are getting excited. I have to educate my sister and BIL on all of the resort pros and cons, so it is taking a while to figure out what exactly we want to price!

Sounds like fun. I have a little spiral notebook with my calculations in it… :thumbsup2 Mine aren't as hefty as yours, but still! :goodvibes

Yes! I need to get one of those! I have a small notebook, but a fun Disney one for calculations and ideas could be cool!

Awesome!

That's quite the popular week! We're planning on being there the 12th-19th/20th!

Wow! Maybe we need to plan on taking the week after their break and not the week before! :thumbsup2

Yes! I am really hoping we get two!

Great point. I do think it would take something away from the trip if the adults couldn't be together. We would definitely have more room in AoA, and I am sure the kids would LOVE it, you are right!

We are calculating an "all out" trip and then we will decide where we want to pull back and really put the money. Can't hurt to calculate for a dream trip, though! :rolleyes1

Yes! It was me! I am so glad you were able to get the card! I think we will wait a couple months more. Hopefully we can build our credit a bit more from the short sale! :cool1:

Day 2: Part 3—Hangry and Hot

I decided to do a trip update today. I am still explaining the different resorts to my sister and BIL so we know what resorts we want to price. :thumbsup2

Anyway, after we rode Rock N Roller Coaster, took one last picture:

And headed over to:

i-CmqmPfG-M.jpg

That’s right! On my third trip, I was finally going to eat at Starring Rolls and have a cupcake!

It was around 11:00 a.m., I think. We had an early dinner planned at 3:30 p.m., so we didn’t want to eat too much. I think we split one sandwich between two people. We ended up getting four cupcakes to split between the six of us and used snack credits for those. We ended up paying out of pocket for the sandwiches.

Here we are getting situated.

I am unsure which sandwich Evan and I bought, but it was one of these two. These were pretty good sandwiches, although the pictures make them appear larger than they actually were.

We got chips with the sandwiches:

I am unsure whether or not Chloe enjoyed the sandwiches. Based on this picture, I think not:

Carol and Steven seem to be having a better time, although Steven’s “Rock and Roll!” seems less than enthusiastic.

These were the four cupcakes we chose:

Butterfinger

Chocolate PB?

Marble:

Red Velvet Cheesecake:

I liked the Red Velvet Cheesecake the best, while Evan enjoyed the PB Chocolate.

One of the girls insisted on using a snack credit for this monstrous Rice Krispy treat.

i-WGJNjgW-M.jpg

I have no idea why. I think they thought it looked really good, and then they didn’t eat much of it because we were so full from the cupcakes. Carol makes/decorates cakes for a living, so she usually doesn’t eat cake. However, she did try these and seemed to like them. Lunch cured our hangry-ness, and we were ready to get back to the park’s attractions.

After lunch we were off to use our FastPasses for Toy Story Mania!

I rode with June this time. It was a lot of fun! She is so delightful!

However, I won the game:

As we exited the ride, we saw one of the green toy soldiers and went over to meet him.

Love, love, love this picture!

We left the soldier with a mission. To see the Lights Motors Action show! While on our journey, we encountered our first obstacle. One that would distract us for several minutes.

Hula Hoops!

i-pgNZGdR-M.jpg

We had to pry the girls away, but it was worth it. We were off to see a show!

i-GdNZqZ4-M.jpg

Now, I wasn’t too excited to see this show. I heard that the “in between” stuff wasn’t too exciting and that overall the show was a bit boring. Additionally, it was super, super hot this day. However, I was happy that we were sitting down for a spell:

Our two favorite parts of the show:

Where did we go after Lights, Motors, Action? We were hot, needed some air conditioning, and could use a laugh…

That stop at Starring Rolls looks like it was just what you guys needed! I can't wait to try their stuff :thumbsup2

Also, it looks like the girls had a fun time with the hoola hoops. I never could get the hang of them

I cannot WAIT to get a cupcake!!! I missed out on one in 2010! :sad1: I'm still upset at all the snacks I missed out on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea where Starring Rolls is located. But after seeing those pics of cupcakes, I'm gonna find out. YUM!

I need to try one of those cupcakes. Wow, they look good! The butterfinger one is calling my name.

Looks like June was going for accuracy ;)

I feel like once you've seen LMA, you don't need to see it again. I thought it was cool the first time, seeing the 'secret' behind how the car works but the second time I saw it, I was bored. I may see it again this trip just because I heard they added Lightning McQueen to the show.

Those cupcakes look so good, how cool that you good to try them all out. That is certainly a benefit of traveling with a group.

I like that you say you are still explaining your resort options to your family. I usually make powerpoint presentations for DH and DD to get their input on the resorts I am deciding on. :) Can't wait to hear what resort you finally settle on.

Okay well glad I passed along the info, It is sure to resurface again!

The cupcakes look amazing - THANKS! HAHAH Now I need one! mmmm

cupcakes at Staring Rolls are one of my favorite things in WDW! (and their sandwiches are not to bad either)

Wow, you got some great shots of LMA show. I seem to miss that one... I have seen it... but it is a hard one to fit in.

Ohhhhh those cupcakes!!! I can not wait to try one! I've always had something else there (eclair, tiramisu) so I'm definitely in need of a cupcake. I'm thinking red velvet.

It really is fun to sample everything! I wasn't the greatest at hula hooping, either. These girls seemed to have a knack for it, though!

I know! There are SO many snacks I haven't tried. Oh, and I haven't ever seen Wishes. Pretty shameful, I know. :rotfl2:

Yes! You need to find out! If I remember correctly, it is near Brown Derby.

I agree! Unfortunately, I know I am going to have to see it again in October 2013, though, so I better prepare myself now! I will be seeing it with LMA virgins, though, so I can just watch them watching the show!

Yes! It is definitely a perk! That is a great idea! I need to get an Apple TV so I can just quickly link the PPT from my iPad to the TV.

Okay well glad I passed along the info, It is sure to resurface again!

Yes! Thank you so much for thinking of me! It wil resurface again-- I have about 12 months to get one, LOL!

It is difficult to fit in. There are so few shows in a day, and it is suck a trek to that corner of DHS... but maybe I am just lazy!

Yes! You definitely need to grab one in Sept!

ok I didn't realize this was a TR now. Wow! And I NEED those cupcakes!!!!!! Must remember to go to Starring Roles at DHS in December!

Just read through your entire trip report so far. Your title drew me in because it has totally been my philosophy in life these past 7 years. Isn't Disney awesome for cheering you up in your darkest times? :). I've been in your situation...many IUIs (1 miscarriage) followed by many unsuccessful IVFs before I finally decided my body was done. We adopted our DS in 2008 and he was truly meant to be our child. Started a 2nd adoption in 2010 and were a couple months away from our 2nd child when I found out I was pregnant. I tell you all of this because if you want a family, you WILL have one, one way or the other. It's really hard to see/feel that when you're in the midst of all the madness.

Anyway...I do so love crunching the Disney numbers. And, we too have been saving the SWA points for our 2013 trip. I'll have to check out those surveys you were talking about! Thanks for the tip.

I'm off to subscribe to your thread. Can't wait to hear more about your life, both in and out of Disney!
