is that because of the construction and owners waiting to see how things pan out? I know it is currently one of the smaller resorts but it just seems surprising that I see no available resales at a couple of the more popular DVC resale internet sites. I am a VWL owner since 2001 and I am a bit out of the loop Dis Discussion -wise, so I apologize if this has been discussed elsewhere.

I personally think it is a combination of things

1. Pure coincidence
2. Prices have not spiked like BC/BWV
3. They are speculating on the new development
4. People really love VWL
5. Probably pure concidence

I have been watching VWL for years but like a hawk since May when I knew we could finally buy. I was on every email list and search engine and checked listings several times a day and waited for 1-2pm for Facebook listings to come out and some text updates. When a contract with the amount and use year came open that was not stripped. I made on offer the second the office opened and was under contract within hours. There were about 5-8 listed at the time, now 6 weeks later there are none and the priced has jumped about $5-9 in asking price in the past 6 weeks from what I have seen, even for larger or stripped contracts. We should hopefully close this week or next. We knew we took a gamble with the new DVC coming but we love WL!
edited to say the one I saw for $9 more a point and partially stripped is still available but the only one I see. The other ones have disappeared already from the listings.

We have a VWL contract that we will be selling in the near future. We are holding off to see what will happen with the construction and to see how DVC handles the new VWL points. Could cause our contract to be worth more in the future :)

2 stripped contracts @ $94/pt. I guess if someone really wants VWL

In this market, stripped contracts at inflated prices for ALL resorts are flying off the shelves. Relatively speaking, $94 isn't that high in this market....those contracts will sell.

You may be right and who knows, in a couple of years $94 may be a steal

I respectfully disagree. Loaded and semi loaded contracts at are most certainly flying off the shelves but the stripped contracts are not exactly flying off unless it is priced well. The site you pointed out tends to list a lot more stripped contracts at higher prices than other brokers, from what I have observed.

I just noticed 2 VWL contracts that were listed today at $90 pp. They both have only part of 2015 points.

What do you mean the new VWL points?

DVC is adding more villas and lakeside cabins to VWL. Too early to know if it will be a separate DVC (VWL 2?) or combined with the existing VWL DVC. Then you get into a different expiration date for the new points and 2042 for the existing VWL points. Who knows how DVC will handle this. I am holding onto my VWL points until we know for sure :)

Timeshare store just listed a wilderness lodge for $88 per point 150 point contract

Once Disney announces their plans for VWL, it will certainly affect most all 2042 DVC resorts. It is now apparent that DVC will continue to refurb all of the 2042 resorts making it feasible for extensions. My gut feeling, all 2042 resale resorts will jump in price once the announcement is made. Just too much of a gap in pricing and the new extensions will close that gap.
