"Can't borrow until you need to?"

Please clarify this for me.

We "save" our VWL points for Christmastime and can't book for '05's Christmas season until Jan. '05. We want to go on the Member's cruise, booking in Oct. very soon! We want to borrow '06 points, some from VB and some from BWV for this '05 cruise. Do I have to bank the VWL points so they are not "there" and then book the cruise with the points I've chosen?

You can't borrow until you make a reservation - that's true.

However, you can certainly tell MS which points you want to use for a particular reservation. They cannot make you use current year points just because they are there! You can certainly hold your VWL points "in reserve" to make the Christmas 2005 reservation.

Just be very clear which points from which resort you want to use when you make the cruise reservation. Verify the status of everything before you hang up.

OK, you need to be making a reservation to borrow. Yes, I'll check the status before I hang up, it's a habit I've acquired because of this board!
