Last night DH floored me and said he wanted to go back to Disney the week before Christmas!!! I really thought he was kidding around but he wasn't. We just came back from a trip down in April and we are planning one for 2007. Last trip we stayed offsite, but this time I am FINALLY getting a chance to stay onsite for the first time. I am so excited, I am just beside myself!! We decided to give CBR a try. The kids were saying last time they wanted to stay somewhere with a beach so I booked two preferred rooms with AAA, 8 day PH tickets, and the dining plan. I have always wanted to go around the holidays to see the decorations. My kids all thought we were pulling their legs when we told them we booked it. I know the rest of my family thinks I am crazy, I got the look from my aunt today when the kids told her!! She just said OH Again!!. Well we go to Maine every summer and that isnt a big deal so I dont see how going twice in a year ONCE
is much different. Anyhow I didnt let that rain on my parade... I AM STAYING ONSITE. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: . Thanks for listening. I knew this was the one place I could share my joy and people would understand my lunacy about this!!

Believe me...... We understand!!!

The week before Christmas sounds like a great time to go!!

   :teeth:

That is wonderful. I would love to be able to go more often. We are going in November, and its been 6 years since we have been. So we are really excited.

Congrats!!! :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2: :cool1: :cheer2:

(And I get those looks, too. Needless to say, your DIS friends will understand - and congratulate you!!!!!!)

Have fun - we'll be in the World a bit before you!

We completely understand!! :goodvibes

Last December we stayed at CR the week before Christmas. Have had MANY wonderful trips to WDW but that one ranks up there as one of the best!! We just got home from 10 days at YC/CSR 2 weeks ago and as soon as we were unpacked, we were planning our December trip!

Congrats on your upcoming trip! Maybe we'll see you there!

Congrats!!!
Now...how did you get your dh to tell "you" that "he" wants to go??? I need to know so that I can get my dh to tell me that he wants to go :rotfl:

Woohoo for you! You'll love onsite!!! We are going to be getting "those" looks soon too! :rotfl: We just booked ANOTHER trip for late September!  (We were just there in MAY!!!) For a family of five, we are flying AND staying at AS Sports for 5 nights for $700- TOTAL! DH and I agreed to take the plunge and go again, as we could not pass up the prices I found! And, I have just finished unpacking all the extras from our last trip...Well, here we go again! :cool1:

AHHHHH that's great news. You'll love WDW at x-mas time. It's like visiting a whole new park. Have you thought of maybe going to the Christmas Party? It is well worth it to see snow on mainstreet usa while you are sippin on hot chocolate and free cookies.

Have fun, and tell DH what a great guy he is.

LOL, Believe me I was shocked. At first I thought maybe he was out in the sun too long and was suffering from exposure or something. Then I thought maybe he was trying to butter me up a little because he went and spent money on season tickets for the patriots or something expensive like that. The thought also crossed my mind that he knew that planning a trip would send me here every night to do endless amounts of researching and would thus free up the tv in our bedroom where he could sit and watch the sox games uninterrupted. I am keeping my eyes open though!! :smooth:

Thanks to all of you for your enthusiasm. Can't really talk too much with friends or relatives too much. They just dont get it. Also I am considering doing the christmas party but I think the only one we will be able to do is the last one. I read that this isnt the best one to go to, anyone know why that would be? I definately would be interested if it wasnt wall to wall people.

We are going 12-16 thru 12-23, our first time at Christmas, too. Just wanted to say"Congrats!". Also, the even though there is the word "Beach" in your resort, no swimming is allowed in any lakes on the property anymore. Hope you're not disappointed.

Boy, do I know that look people give when they hear we are going to Disney...... again! We actually had 2 trips within 60 days this year. :cool1: Everyone thought we were crazy but, we loved every minute in Disney!

I am a lucky girl. DH :love2: loves to take us to WDW often. It is our favorite place to be together as a family.

You will just love it during the Holidays! Have a great time, lucky you! :wave2:

Congrats to you also. Yes we do know about the no swimming in the lakes in Disney. It is understandable. I can't imagine how much it would take for those waters to be kept up. Yikes!! My five yr olds love to play in the sand though so they are excited about that. Hope you have a great time also and thanks for the heads up anyway!!

Congrates on your upcoming trip. I know that the unexpected ones are just so much more fun to plan. We are going in Oct. for an unexpected trip and I find myself giddy w/ glee everytime I finalize a plan. Happy Planning

I am going to be there from Dec 18 to the 23rd with my youngest daughter and I know what you mean. Some of my friends just shake their heads when my husband tells them that I am going back. He has decided not to go this year. He has gone the last two years in the weeks before Christmas with me and we had fun. I love the decorations and the special Christmas shows and music. I love it!!! We are so excited.

I am glad that you have the opportunity to do this - you will love it too!!!

Isn't it just great to have people who understand you?? I had to survive a weekend of eyerolls and sarcasm. Congrats to you and we can't wait to hear all of your plans!!

We are now only 10 days away from our next WDW vacation :cool1:

We have heard everything from "Again?" to "What is there that you haven't seen or done?"

I could care less as it really is the "happiest place on earth" for my family.

The ones that do get me though are those that have never been. I say take a trip down and see and then we'll talk.

Have a great trip you will love WDW at Xmas. Absolutely beautiful. Oh and we loved MVMCP last year it was fabulous.

Congrats to you! I know how exciting that is - we just went in June and are now planning on going down Dec 16-23 (or so)! I definitely get "those looks" and comments - "don't you want to go SOMEWHERE ELSE?" and the like. With two kids, 6 and 8, and one has food allergies, NO I DON'T! My husband actually sees how fun it is for us to explore different areas of the parks each time, not just rush from ride to ride. We've been the week before Christmas before, and it's always been perfect. Not crowded, great cooler weather, and the decorations are so beautiful! Have fun planning!

:cool1: That is GREAT! We haven't been yet this year- we are going in December to WL, but we are considering going for a long w/e for MNSSHP in October before hand b/c I simply cannot wait to go! :cool1:

Add us to the list. A number of years ago we took a family trip (8 nights)that ended with us returning home on a Thurs. Our kids went to camp that Sunday and my wife and I flew back to WDW that evening for 5 more nights (yep, that's from WDW, home to Ohio and back to WDW in 4 days)

This past year we have been to WDW 4 times. Last June for 8 nights. 6 nights in Oct for the F+W Festival, Spring Break for 8 nights and the first week of May for 7 nights.

And we just put together a 4 night trip for Oct this year.

Why yes Doctor, we are obsessed, but what better obsession could you have?

Awesome. we loved Christmas time and I am sure you will too. Watch out....you are only steps away from DVC. We did it and now we go all the time. It is great. Our friends and family don't really get it but it is a blast with our DD (age 5) and it is really something we all can share. And the nice thing about going alot is you don't have to be one of those mad rush families trying to see everything WDW has to offer in 4 or 5 days. You can actually have a....vacation.
Have the best time!
Karen
