Congrats and welcome to the S3 family! You too, LPZ_Stitch! I'm sure you'll love yours as much as I love mine!
You can buy tiny little tripods which take up practically no space at all. I keep one in my pocketbook.I'm busily learning everything I can about the camera and its features!
Got any good tips for taking decent night pictures without a tripod ('cause carrying a tripod around Disney is NOT going to happen)?

Great, I love German Shepherd pictures!! Good luck with your new camera (I got my S3 in Nov)!:
Just getting to know the camera now - hopefully tomorrow I'll be going to the beach area for the day and the camera will be coming with me! There are so many features on this one that I am a bit bamboozled at the moment!!
I just picked one up on Monday, too ... what an awesome camera!
I can't wait to bring it to Disney!!!![]()
Have fun, and I look forward to seeing your photos too.I absolutely know the feeling!hjd0411 said:There are so many features on this one that I am a bit bamboozled at the moment!!

My DH is laughing at me because I am going to have to break down and read one of the many manuals that came with this camera (eventually!) Thank you eveyone for your help in deciding on the S3. The community college is offering a digital photgraphy 1 class that a bunch of us are going to take over the summer. I want to really learn how to step out of auto mode and have some fun. I had gotten a dvd and book that my husband and I have been pouring through. We get confused with aperture and shutter speed. I think the video said that the lower the aperture the more focus a macro shot will be and if you have high action a higher shutter speed is what you need. I am memorizing it be thinking that aperture starts with A and is lower in the alphabet than S for shutter. Hope that's right.
