Well, I still think the funniest thread I have EVER read on the DIS was the one about the critter under the van seat. Do any of you long-time DISers remember that one?

Many moons ago...in the early days of the DIS...someone made a simple post that they witnessed someone sitting on the curb on Main Street in the MK, eating corn out of the can.

That post, and the following remarks took on a life of their own...and has become a treasured piece of the DISboards lore.

I've searched for the OP a time or two, but never persisted long enough to find it...if it still exists.

On the corn thread, Steve, I think, moreso than just the can of corn on the City Hall steps, it was the direction that good ole WillyJ (sure do miss him) took it once it was posted. He was a master at weaving a thread into a story.

As mentioned a number of times on this thread, the 'good old days' here on the community board were priceless, so many fun evenings, so many good people. I do miss them.

The corn thread was classic and I do remember laughing my butt off when it was first around. I remember at one point that there was a special section for these "classic" threads but I think it got dropped during one of the server moves or something.

But the possum thread is also a gem! Run like the wind Fat Man had me laughing my butt off when it was new and I just got a good laugh out of re-reading it.

Over the years there have been a few memorable threads on the boards.
