You know, those tiny red-hot cinnamon candy hearts that set your mouth on fire and stain your teeth and hands?:thumbsup2
I can't find them in any of the stores, and I never found any last year, either. Where the heck are they?:confused3 They always used to be with all the other Valentine's Day candy, either packaged in bags or small boxes. I can order them online, but just wondering if anyone has found any in the stores?

And what has happened to the quality of those little candy conversation hearts? I've always loved those, too! No problem finding them in the stores, and they taste the same as always, but the conversation part is questionable. I've had quite a few of them where the letters are completely blurry, or half-missing, or not even there. My four year old granddaughter loves to have me tell her what the hearts say, but lately I find myself just making stuff up!:rotfl: Memories from my childhood have me believing every heart had perfectly formed, and easily readable, letters on them.::yes::

I have seen them as red hots on candy racks, but not the red hearts. I have seen the conversation hearts, but it's been years since I have had them.

Stop what you are doing, and go to this site ASAP:

http://www.schimpffs.com/store_hard_candy.html

Schimpff's Confectionery is in Jeffersonville, Indiana, just across the river from Louisville.
They make cinnamon red hots everyday of the year as a demonstration. They have perfected
the recipe, and they are wonderful....especially when you get a nice warm one off the table.
And, you can get them in the heart shapes as well.
Schimpff's is the oldest candy shop in Indiana, and still use equipment from the late 1880's.
In this video you can see part of the Red Hot making process.

Enjoy!!

I need them for a cake recipe my family loves and I have such a hard time finding them or any kind of cinnamon candy like that.
The only place I have found them is Walgreens.

I've never seen them as heart shaped but as red dots all year long at Walgreens or other pharmacy - Red Hots. I find them addicting and will eat them until my tongue is sore, lol. I have to restrain from buying them - I'll indulge in a bag maybe once a year.

They are the best!!! When we were vacationing in Louisville, we crossed the river and went to Schimpffs. We bought some cinnamon red hots and loved them.

Thanks for posting the video! I enjoyed it, and if I'm ever in that part of the country, I'll definitely stop in!

Thanks! I haven't checked Walgreens, but I'm going to do so tomorrow!

I was looking for the cinnamon hearts that used to appear in stores around this time of year, but many of you have mentioned the Red Hots candy. I forgot all about those! I know they're usually found near boxes of Boston Baked Beans and Lemonheads. :thumbsup2

If you're talking about the little bitty heart shaped cinnamon candies, try the baking aisle. I know they used to sell them in sprinkle bottles for baking/decorating purposes.

If you can't find them in stores. You may try some of the candy shops or bake shops around town.

Well, now that Valentine's Day is over, i found Brach's Cinnamon Imperial Hearts on clearance at Discpunt Drug Mart. They always have a huge variety of candy & I never even thought to check there.
