Candlelight Processional Dinner - Watching & Waiting

FWIW - DW called Dining today and the CM cited the delay is due to Celebrity Reader schedule uncertainty.

Actually believable IMO. :)

I was told this by Concierge at AKV. They are unable to sell packages until all the narrators are signed. Last year CP went on sale August 4th. So, hopefully it will be soon.

We will be there the week before Christmas. I don't care who the narrator is...just want my favorite restaurant!!:santa:

When I spoke to the CM a few minutes ago, she said to call back every day a few times each day because eventhough they have no definite info yet, she expects it will be soon. She assured me they don't mind lots of calls -- that's why they are there! So, here's hoping tomorrow may be the day!

I guess what Disney fails to realize is that we'll book CP regardless of who the "celebrity" is. Honestly, I really don't care. Besides, isn't Mickey a celebrity? He could always be the back-up in case the "celeb" fails to show up!

Was just told that it won't be today. Keep trying my friends!

Argggghhh!!! this is getting to be torture :faint: I must admit that I'm not calling everyday (only because I live in the UK and the international call costs are scary), I check in here though to see whats happening. I'm luckier than most though seeing as its midday here, can't imagine what its like for you in the US who are having to get up at the break of dawn, so I must express my thanks for keeping us updated. :grouphug:

I'm waiting for the CP to open because I want an ADR at Le Cellier for 12/11 and I think that's the only way I'm going to get one. The CM that I sopke with said they are holding back at least 50% of the reservations for CP - hopefully people will cancel their ADRs when they book the CP.

Anyway, she also said she heard the end of July but...they haven't heard anything more so she doubts that will happen. She said they usually have a least a few days notice. Take that for what it's worth :)

I suspect that there are a couple of things at play here... and while Disney could sell packages before the schedule is confirmed, they choose not to:

1) There may be contractual/financial obligations to the narrators that are tied with the number of packages that are sold.

2) They may want to attempt to gauge narrator popularity based on number of sales... which would help them determine what weeks they want to offer what narrators in future years.

3) While those of us who are traveling some distance for a WDW vacation will probably attend a CP night regardless of narrator choice, those living locally have greater flexibility in dates, and might book a package because of a particular narrator. Disney may not feel it fair to their local client base to start booking without having everything lined up.

4) They also probably want to avoid the mayhem of people trying to cancel or switch once the schedule is finalized.

and I got to talk to Buck! SO nice! Have a great weekend everyone! 'See' you bright and early Monday morning! :)

Well there goes July! Hope it's early August and they don't pull us along for another 2 weeks! :rolleyes1

This CP ADR is exhausting. DW has been calling everyday since mid June. I think we need to have a party when this is over.

Fine. But they're stringing us along. Pick a later date and stick to it. September 1. October 1. I don't care how much time they need to confirm the narrators. But, it's not nice to tell us in June that the CP will be available in "late June." Then, it was "mid-July." Then, "Late July." Meanwhile, folks who really want the tickets have been calling every day -- long-distance calls -- based on the often nice CM reply to "keep trying!" or "try again tomorrow!" or "not today but keep trying!" It's a drag.

Hi Traci, I use a bypass number so my calls only cost 1p/minute - makes it much more bearable to call every day! I use Telesavers (you can find them if you google) but there are others about - check out the moneysavingexpert website. HTH :goodvibes
