Hello! :)

I will be at Epcot on December 17th (Thursday). I plan to see the candlelight processional and already made an ADR at Biergarten for 2:45 p.m. (Lunch) for the 6:45 p.m. show and other ADR for 4:15 p.m. (Dinner) for the 8:15 p.m. show. (undecided which to choose)

I don´t know which show is better , i´ve never seen it before, and i am a little worried that if i see the 8:15 p.m. show, i won´t have enought time to find a place to see Illuminations at 9:30 p.m.

Any thoughts?

Thank you!

You should have time to get to the reserved viewing location before it starts if you don't dilly-dally -- roughly half-an-hour.

The viewing area for Illuminations is no longer included they are using that for the dessert party people but if you went to the CP show you couldn't get a good spot by the time you got there anyway. It can be difficult to get a great spot after the late show if you want to be on the rail because unless you get out immediately you have to wait for the performers to clear before proceeding. If getting a great spot for Illuminations that night is really important to you I would go to the earlier CP.

Thank you both for your replies, i always try to get a good spot for Illuminations because i am very short :(

I would plan to see an earlier show if you want to have a greater choice of viewing spots for Illuminations. You may want to double check your first ADR as lunch reservations are usually for the 5:00 show not the 6:45 show. Last year we dined at 4:00 and had seats for the 6:45 show which we felt ended with plenty of time to walk around and still find a great location for Illuminations.

I do not know if it´s a glitch of the system, but that´s how i can see it in my email and My Disney Experience, i guess i will have to call Disney

Ah, yes, that's me living in the good old days, before they started charging more for less.

Still, a half-hour to find a good spot -- probably not hard to do.

If you want a great viewing spot after the last show, you can just go to Germany just past the pavilion. Basically, right across from the storyteller location, the railing and that area with benches is a great spot to view illuminations. That is my go to spot over the holidays because the wind is usually going the opposite direction. Plus, you have time to buy a german beer, wine, or a sweet and watch the show!

The timings of the meals and shows are very different this year. When the packages first opened, I reserved a lunch time at noon paired with the last CP show. Calling dining gave options of changing the show times if they were available.

If you are booking online it seems to randomly assign show times. I cancelled and rebooked the same meal time twice until I got the combo I wanted. As luvallprincesses said, if you call you can choose your show time (based on availability) as long as it's at least 2.5 hours after your meal.

Very different! Last year I had to change our Teppan Edo reservation from 4:15 to 4:00 just to get the 6:45 show!

I'm glad I read this thread... just checked my reservation for CP and with my 4:10 PM Biergarten ressie, they gave me the 8:15 PM show. My DD3 might survive the late show, but I don't want to risk it! Calling now to change it!
