I have a CP ressie for the 5pm show on Dec. 23rd, with a 7pm seating for the Rose and Crown. What do you think about our chances of staying in the restuarant to view Illuminations ( if we have a good table to view from) ? I have never dined at this restuarant, so I don't know if it would be too long of a time to stay, or if I would need to hurry out to let others have a table. Any thoughts?

I have been told (via these boards) that you should make your PS 1 1/4 hour to 1 1/2 hour before Illuminations which will be at 9:30pm that time of year.

Your chances of getting a patio table, with an Illuminations view is probably about 50/50. If your ps is at 7pm, then you should have no problem stretching out dinner. Just take your time and order things when you are ready for them. For instance, don't order your meal, along with the appetizer. Order the appetizer first and when you're halfway through with it, order your dinner. On the other hand, if you are seated inside and want to hurry things along so that you can get out and view Illuminations, that shouldn't be a problem either.

If you stretch out dinner for 2.5 hrs prior to the start of illuminations make sure you heavily tip your waiter....as most people who sit at 7pm get up prior to 10pm...so they will miss an entire turn on the table if you do this....

Good point ZW. This is a-typical for DH and myself, so I never to think to mention it to others. My mother was a waitress for many years and she told me that if I was going to be a "nester", let them know and tip them well. Thanks for bringing it up.

This morning I made PS for 8:00pm. I think 1 1/2 hours is a fair amount of time. Also knowing that we will not be sat at exactly 8:00pm.
