Candelight Processional - kid friendly?

Hi!

My kids are 10, 8,8, 5 and 3. I really want to go see to the Candlelight Processional with the dinner package. My 5 year old get very anxious, fearing loud noises and darkness and my 3 year old is 3! Will it be appropriate for them to be there? My children do go to church. They do squirm and whisper a lot, but they are pretty good.

What do you think?

40 - 45 minutes so some children get bored and tend to want to go do something else.You are the best judge if they would like to listen to traditional reading of Christmas story and several holiday songs by the choir.Have a safe and magical trip whatever you decide.

Nothing personal, but I would not be happy to have squirming whispering children near me during this program. Try sitting near the back so that you can take the younger ones out if you need to. Your older children would probably be fine, especially if they enjoy music. For the younger two it is questionable. Please think of how their behavior would affect others around you . If you are confident that they won't be a distraction , give it a try. If you aren't sure I would wait til they are a little older.

While I think CP sounds so wonderful, I'm going to have to skip it. I also have a 5 year old and a 3 year old. My 5 yo will go very bored after 20 minutes and my 3 yo would be jumping over people after 10. My oldest daughter (12 yo) would have probably sat through it when she was 3 and been very happy about it. I will see if anyone else in our group wants to do it while I walk around with the younger kids.

It really doesn't get that dark especially if you go to the first show. There are times when only a spotlight is on the narrator though. It does get loud at times. They have herald trumpets that line the sides of the theater. We have seen younger kids there and the parents were able to keep them contained. If you want to try to see it, sit towards the back so you can leave if you have to. This will also lessen the abrupt noise and will have more background light filtering in.
