Cancelled Luau

We have been noticing this week that they have been cancelling the Luau at the Polynessian due to weather.

We have reservations for next Wednesday. What are the chances we get cancelled next week?

What is Disney's criteria for cancelling and how much notice are we given that our dinner will be cancelled?

Cancelations of the Luau are based on weather. You should just monitor the weather channel (use 32830 for the WDW zip code) to see if its going to be cold that night.

Most of the performers dont wear much and it is outside, even though the dinner is under a roof. I've never seen their temp criteria published, but it has to be comfortable for everyone. We went in 2005 and fortunately it was warm in Nov. In 2008, it was cold at night while we were there in Nov and they couldn't have done the show then. You just need to watch and I would think if it's less than 50 Deg at night, they won't do it.

Maybe they cancelled it because it is so lame. We did it many years ago and found it not worth the money.

. . . if cold or rainy, absolutely
. . . next week looks good for temps, but rain uncertain

What is Disney's criteria for canceling and how much notice are we given that our dinner will be canceled?
. . . if temps are below 50º, good chance
. . . if temps approach 45º, definitely
. . . they try to wait until 30-minutes before the show
. . . unless so cold it doesn't have a chance, then usually by 4:00pm

NOTE: If they cancel the Luau, it is up to you to find a place for dinner. The Luau does not substitute a ressie at another eatery. You need to call WDW-DINE or contact the resort concierge to get a ressie last minute.
