Cancelled fireworks and Fantasmic

Anyone know how Fantasmic went over the weekend? I'm curious how it's doing on cancellations and if Murphy is showing up again. :)
The family actually watched the 9 pm show on Saturday night. (I opted to go to the resort and pack.). They said it went without hitch and that Murphy was there. It was breezy that evening so I was surprised the fireworks happened as well. They enjoyed it.

Murphy was also there for the 9pm Sunday show. The Beast, however, was not. Belle danced alone on her raft. Anyone have a clue about that?

So shocked on Tuesday to sit and wait for fireworks and have them start only to be abruptly stopped shortly after they were going. Message came on that they would be stopping due to wind. Not a tree was blowing? Then Wednesday we got a fp for the latest Fantasmic show and fought the crowds from the first show and the fireworks and lined up just after 9. Finally got prime sitting seats center stage. An announcement came on that it was delayed due to technical difficulties. A while later came on to say it was cancelled. Not feeling these evening performances! Gonna go to dvc viewing area on the 6th floor of the Grand Californian tonight and hopefully watch the WOC!
Murphy was there for both shows on Saturday night. From @AMusicLifeForMe Murphy was not there for the first show on Friday and neither was Eric (only Ariel on the barge).
correct Dina.

OP...I also want you to realize that the first Fantasmic on that night was live-streamed on Disney Parks Blog. I don't know if anything happened during that showing that would cause Fantasmic to be canceled. All I know is Murphy wasn't at the first performance on your night, but they could have easily done plan B. Also, with new shows, things are always bound to happen. I wish Disney wouldn't rely solely on technology like they are now. I wish they could just have the mindset of "the show must go on!"

I totally feel your pain! I hate it when the nighttime stuff gets cancelled. At WDW, the finale' is what it's all about....and they NEVER get cancelled. But at DL, it's like sleeping with a snoring person. You get all uptight and anxious waiting for that next snore/that next cancellation. The worst is when the cancel in the middle of the show. I used to feel the anxiety of the cancellation up until it started. But when they cancelled mid-show on me, now I worry it'll end at nearly every moment of the show. It really kills the magic.

I'm glad you said this, though. My kids and I were watching it while walking to the hotel after our conference ended. They were waiting for the finale and it never came! So sorry you had to experience this up close and personal. It really makes for a crumby end of the day.
I am one of the fortunate few that have never had any cancellations at DLR for fireworks (over about 20 viewings), Fantasmic (maybe 10) and WOC (close to 20).

On the other hand, my first visit to WDW had Illuminations cancelled - when everyone told me it never gets cancelled. My most recent trip in May had the MK HEA fireworks cancelled. Fortunately, we had already seen HEA on our first night and did not plan to see it on the second night. But there were a lot of other disappointed people.

We also got to see ROL at AK the night before they cancelled all three shows. We were there at AK two days in a row and fortunately saw ROL on the first night and heard about the cancellation on the second night from others.

All that being said, I know and agree that DL has a higher chance of cancellations for fireworks. I am not sure the other shows at DLR have a higher chance than at WDW and doubt that they do.

It is weird that Eric and the Beast were missing! That is one part of the show that isn't technology. If the technology does fail, at least the characters should be there! I wonder what is going on behind the scenes.
