Hey there,

First time poster, so go easy on me! I've watched and relied (with a grain of salt) on all of the information on here. Everyone is so knowledgeable and helpful.

That said, my cruise was cancelled and I received the email from Disney that the refund had been processed on their end. I know for a fact that my bank turns around refunds within 72 hrs After receiving them. With the refund being process on the 6th, and it now being the 15th- how much longer should I wait on this refund? Has anyone else received theirs? I know Labor Day just passed and they were impacted by Irma, and are handling everything from refunds to itenirary changes, but do you think I should just go ahead and start calling- or just dispute the charges with my bank?

I called earlier and was given the transaction details about my refund. They basically said it was processed and sent back to the bank. They gave me transaction numbers and everything. For reference, everything else that was pre-paid for this trip (not through Disney- but transpiration, flights and lodging in port canaveral) were all refunded and credited back to my account within two days. I'd like to rebook soon (I know they extended the window to rebook, but I'd like to go on another Halloween cruise). With the refund taking so long, I don't feel comfortable booking it again without my refund and essentially paying for it twice in the event there is a mix up.

Basically, if your cruise was cancelled and you received the email that your refund was processed, have you received that credit? Thanks!

Was this one of the cruises cancelled because of Irma? I believe they said up to 10 days, and that usually means "business days" which is essentially weekdays. But I also believe DCL corporate offices were impacted by the hurricane, so I'm not sure if that might extend the time a couple of days as well. They have thousands of refunds to process...

I hope you plan a new cruise for the future!

Were you reading my husband's mind? We've been on the phone with DCL all week to get our refund sorted out. The credit that DCL indicated they processed on their end has not yet shown up on our credit card. Just like you, we are trying to rebook our Halloween cruise without having to overlap the charges. What I can tell you, after multiple conversation with DCL, they were impacted by Irma and were closed through Monday. They did not start processing the refunds until Tuesday, September 12th. If this is correct, the credit should appear in the account within the next week. At this point, because we are limited on the cruises we can go on, we've opted to go ahead and book the next cruise and hope to see the credit soon. I hope this helps knowing you're not alone.

Yes! This was due to the impact of Irma. Since t looks like I'm not alone, then I'll wait until it officially hits that "ten day" mark. Thank you so much!

It helps so much to know that I'm not alone in this. Which cruise are you looking to rebook? Maybe we'll be on the same one? Knowing that it wasn't an automated thing and that they started processing them later than what I originally thought makes perfect sense! The impression they gave me when I called earlier was that the refund was processed on the 6th and everything on their end was done. I hope you have fun on your next cruise! Hopefully I'll be booking again soon!

Awesome! Are you planning on rebooking?

We rebooked immediately for the New England/Canadian Coast 9/27 out of New York. I was told they'd let us apply the 25% discount to that on the 18th, but the e-mail that went out today has me worried they won't honor that because it specifically states the discount is only good for cruises booked within the window.

Yeah I was told it had to be booked between those dates to get the full discount. However, if you know the name and extension of the person that helped you, then you never know! I don't see why they wouldn't :)

I was on the 8th Dream that got cancelled. Today they told me that they processed it back to the card I used on the 13th and it would take 7 to 10 business days. I am holding my 25% discount for a big dollar cruise in 2018 :) But I booked a VGT for October 20th today simply because it was a pretty darn good deal AND we happened to have that weekend available.

It will be okay, really. They are working very hard to get so many refunds and partial refunds processed.
They closed on Saturday evening and re opened Monday with limited access to internet, phone and power. They were short staffed because many people could not make it to work. There are parts of Central Florida still without power and the deadline to have all areas of Florida restored is Sunday.
Please continue to be patient and I hope you get to book the dates that you want.

Thank you for responding! I wish they would have been more upfront about the date they processed it. That way I wouldn't worry. I was told that the processed it back on the 6th, which is why I started to worry. I feel so relieved now!

Let's just go with the idea that it WAS processed on the 6th. That would have given them 2 business days that they were actually open to get the funds where they needed to go to be cleared by accounting. Saturday, Sunday they were closed (and not business days anyway) Monday there were power shortages, and short staffs in both DCL and bank branches all over the state of Florida. (In fact 3 of my local branches just re opened this afternoon because they had no power to run anything.)

So, now you are looking at Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and part of Friday with many areas of CFL out of power, phone and internet.
They had roughly 5,000 households to process various types of refunds and partial refunds. Hang tight and you will see it arrive as soon as it possibly can.

We got ours a couple of days ago. It included the on board booking deposit we used to book the cruise.

Update: The credit posted at midnight. Whew! We had gone ahead and rebooked for the 9/23 Fantasy cruise. The only downside to this is we could only get a deluxe family ocean view stateroom with a large porthole as opposed to the verandah we had previously. Plus, we lost our 10:30 am boarding and are now on the 1:30 boarding. It's okay though since our main goal is to be on the Halloween cruise. My bags are still packed. :) Did you decide on a new cruise date? We are locals so it's easier for us to say, let's go next week. Hopefully, your credit arrives soon!!

Mine posted overnight as well! I want to go on the October 6th out of New York to the Bahamas. I'll lose my verandah for an inside stateroom, but it's a longer trip and they told me it includes tickets to Disney! That is going to be AWESOME since my little brother has never been!

Still nothing for us from the 9/9 Fantasy that was canceled. Hopefully it will come soon. Will call DCL if we don't see it by the middle of next week.

But did you pass on your 25% discount?

But did you pass on your 25% discount?
No, we will call on 9/18 and they will apply the discount and refund the difference. We have been interacting with the same DCL agent all week regarding the credit and cruise holds and have the direct contact number to get this done.

We are on the 9/23 cruise as well...but we booked it a year ago on board. :) I booked a short 3 night Dream cruise for October and am saving my 25% discount for a larger dollar cruise in May.
We also got our full refund credited over night.
