I'm thinking of booking a trip next week for travel starting Sep 18th or 25th to take advantage of the free dining. I'm assuming that i'd need to purchase the hotel room and make the ADR's. (Do i need to purchase park tickets at the same time?)

Now, the problem is that it's not a for sure that we can go in September as my husband may be getting a job that doesnt allow vacation at that time. I'm not worried about the flights as i'm using airmiles with no blackouts so i'll book that a lot later anyway. So, what happens if i have to cancel? Is everything refundable? Or a portion? And does anyone know how far in advance you need to cancel?

Planning a disney vacation is NOT easy..... ha ha ha

Thanks in advance for any advice, it's appreciated.

You have to book a package which includes park tickets for at least two days for everyone on the reservation You only have to pay a deposit of $200 when you make the reservation. But payment in full will be due 45 days before your check in date.

ETA:

WDW's policy for 2013:
Cancellation Fees Prior to Guest Arrival
Cancellation of Reservation - If the reservation is cancelled amounts paid, minus cancellation fees, vacation insurance premium, and other amounts owed, will be refunded. For cancellations made 44 days or less prior to guest arrival, there is a cancellation fee of $200 per package, plus any cancellation fees assessed by third party hotels or other suppliers.

thanks!!

Sooooo, are we able to change the tickets later? (I'm still tossing around the idea of getting an anual pass for myself)

And - i read somewhere that sometimes you have to put down a $10 deposit for the ADR's? Is that true? And is that something that would be refundable?

Some restaurants require a credit card to hold the reservation. You will be charged ten dollars per person if you cancel less than 48 ahead of time. Otherwise, it doesn't cost anything to make a reservation - except for some select places, like Hoop Dee Doo, the Polynesian Luau, and Cinderella's Royal Table. Those places requirement payment in full at time of booking.

You can upgrade your tickets to AP's.
