So my poor mother needs yet another heart surgery. I had a trip planned for the first week of August that now has to be canceled so I can provide my mother with care after surgery. The good news is, the doctor feels really confident that she will do well. I'm worried about her ,but since this isn't the worried about mom board, I have some questions for you guys. When my boyfriend got the trip we got buy 4 get three.. which we now have to give up ... so...

- How do i get Pins in my name, I got a pin this year in my ex husbands name and was told I could not use it.. ideas for getting them in my name?

- any rumors for new promotions coming out? I wont be able to re-book until at least the end of Nov,, so free dining is not an option?

- and other ideas?

I wish your mom good luck with her surgery.

There is no way to get yourself a pin. They seem to be random. Some get them everytime they turn around and others never get a single one.

Order a planning DVD. I have gotten 2 pins after ordering one.

And I have been ordering DVD's for about 6 years now-no pin. No one knows how to get the coveted pins.

Can you change the dates on your reservation?

I can't change them and keep the promotion I have, and also im not sure when i can get a week off of work again. Yeah the pin codes do seem like a mystery

Go onto the website and search some trip dates. Make sure you are logged in. Then don't book the trip.

It worked for us for some strange reason. I don't know if it was random- or not but that's what we did shortly before getting the pin(which we couldn't use by the way)

We cancelled a June trip in May and got a pin about 2 weeks later for August. Sadly, we couldn't use it but maybe they try to entice you to come if you cancel? Just a thought. Hope your mom is ok.

Try registering your birthday.
I got one (even though trip was planned). Pitch was to make my birthday more special stay in a resort...

I think there will be new promos to come.

re: name on PINs.

A friend on the Disneyland forum keeps getting PINs sent to her address in a friend's name, because the friend was listed as a guest in a room with her one time. They can't seem to change it, but she's fiddled with her account so she also gets PINs in her own name.

Go through your whole Disney online account. make sure all your info is updated. Order a planning DVD. etc. That way you have a chance to get them in YOUR name, even if you also get them in his name.

They have the freakiest system, I swear. Last month I called the Disneyland hotel booking line. Just with my name, they said they pulled me up in their system. As we went further into booking, they were verifying my address, and they had me at an address I lived in almost TEN years ago. She said that was normal and OK, but it wasn't. I was NOT into Disney at that time, Disney was furthest from my mind. I wasn't ordering DVDs, I wasn't planning vacations, I wasn't even doing rewards sites where my info would have been sold to marketers...there's NO reason that that ancient address (10 years ago, probably 7 addresses ago...we move a lot!) should have EVER been in their database.

Their system is freaky. They also had me at my current place...

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom! As for the PIN codes, I was just sent one finally after waiting 3 years. The only thing I did different this time around was last month I planned everything out online and went to the very last step and didn't purchase. I was doing it for research but when I went to close the window another window popped open and asked why I was not booking. There were like 20 reasons I could have selected but the one I choose was the "Too Costly at this Time" option. I had a PIN code in my home mail box within one week and it was for free dining in Nov!!

Also, I would definitely call their number and see if you can find a helpful rep. It makes all the difference in the world and if they know you want to spend the money to go, they might be more willing to work with you to get you there on your terms and timing. It certainly can't hurt to try. Good Luck and I will be praying for your mom!!

OK, maybe this is something, maybe not. I like to dream about DW, like all of us do. So when I dream, I go online and actually price trips. I go all out. I mean, i book dining, value, deluxe, all of it. and then I save the offers. I have done this 10 times or so.

In fact, I did it a month ago. Ok, it's pathetic, but it's harmless. Anyway, while doing this, twice I have been interrupted by a Disney representative during my fun and asked if I needed help with booking. Now, what I mean by interrupted is that I was typing in info on their website, you know, Disneyworld.com, and while I was plugging in dates and desires and stuff, this text box pops up out of nowhere and the Disney rep says "hello, is there anyting I can help you with?" I know, sounds weird.

But so I start talking to this "person," who I am pretty sure is a computer programmed to respond to certain words, and I get all this info. But what I think they (Disney) do is take information from my username and apply it to an offer. I've been offered three codes. I have priced about 10 to 15 trips.

This last code I bit on. Free dining during a mid-Oct trip. Will there be other codes because I bit on this one? Likely. But that is what I think triggered the codes: actually pricing trips and getting their computers to ask if I needed help. THAT was luck of the draw.

I even asked the computer if there was a sure-fire way to get computer assistance every time I planned a trip. the "person" said no. It was totally luck of the draw.

My two cents: Start pricing trips. It can't hurt.
