canceling ressies refund?

does anyone know how long it normally takes to show as a credit? I need to get everything in order. We had to cancel our trip

It depends on your credit card company, but a good rule of thumb is 6 wks.

If you have to cancel an existing reservation, the credit will show up in less than a week on an AMEX card and between 1 and 2 weeks for MC or VISA.

My experience is more like travelitis' -- it depends. There is no consistency, and is mostly a matter of which bank administers the card, but also has a lot to do with how high-tech the vendor is, how high-tech the bank is, how much other transaction activity is being handled (i.e., December tends to be the worst month for this sort of thing), etc.

I just cancelled our trip for February. The credit was on the next Visa bill that I got.

We had to cancel our Dec 2005 trip and it only took about a week to receive credits for lodging and ADR. This was on a MC. I was surprised they were so quick.
