If I want to cancel my dining plan, how close to my arrival date will Disney allow me to do so?

You can cancel after your 45 days, but there will be a charge to change the reservation. I had the QS plan booked, called after my 45 days to upgrade to the regular plan and they told me there was no charge when you are upgrading, just to downgrade. So if you are upgrading the DP, you will not be charged. If you are removing it without upgrading, I believe there will be a $50 charge, but don't quote me on that price, I just remember reading something to that effect. In all honesty, I wish I would have stayed with the QS plan and payed for my one TS OOP because I am now having trouble gaining the ADR's I want so close to arrival and when I worked it out on paper, taking into account that I will now have to purchase my mugs ( which we do use a lot), I will not be breaking even, I will be putting more money out. Just me and DH are going for a few days but when DS comes, the regular plan makes more sense because he likes to do some serious eating!

Thank you. I am going with my teenaged son, and I think I will just keep the QSDP. My concern was all those desserts at counter service that I would not ordinarily get. I also have several ADRs (as I could not decide between QSDP and the DDP and wanted to be prepared in case I switched). I made my ressies at the 90 day mark. I have 8 scheduled, and will definitely be keeping 3 of them and paying OOP. I will cancel the rest when I am 100% sure I will not utilize them. I do not want to upgrade to the DDP because I don't want to have to get to ADRs, and paying OOP for all the food seemed a good idea to me, in my situation.

What I intend to do is utilize the QSDP (and I am certain we will use all the credits, as I do have a teenaged boy LOL), and I will pay for the ADRs I want OOP. At this point is is tough for me to gage which would be best for me, and I am going to switch off potentially saving money for flexibility and not being tied to the DDP. I really see myself paying for 3 TS meals at lunchtime - The Plaza, Sci-Fi Diner, and 50s PTC, so I do not think they will break the bank on top of the QSDP. We will be just fine and have plenty to eat.

Can you ADD the QSDP to your reservation after the 45 day mark or at check - in and if yes, is the price the same???

Yes, you can add it to your package but I believe it must be added and paid for at least 72 hours before you arrive.

I have heard that there could be a change fee, but usually, when you are upgrading your plan, they waive it (although I have heard of people being charged $10.00 when a change was made within a week of arriving).
