OK I have a weird situation -

I have a reservation for Chef Mickey's for 5:30 on our first night...

however - MK closes at 7:00 that night

I am thinking the kids would rather stay til the end, especially since I read that you might be able to see a lot of characters coming out to get ready for the parade....

I have found that there are reservations available at Kona Cafe and Liberty Tree for 7:30

would you switch or just stick with chef mickey's? and would I be able to eat at Liberty Tree at 7:30 when the park closes at 7?

UGH - overthinking I think, lol

If MK is closing for a party at 7pm, then no you won't be able to eat at Liberty Tree unless you buy a party ticket.

Kona Café is good but I also enjoy Chef Mickey's. I guess you already tried to see if there was anything around 7:30pm.

Thanks - I did check on Chef Mickey and right now the only thing available is 9:10p - that is a bit late for us, lol

I was just thinking that since it is a short night at the park and our first night - the kids might want to stay to the very end....

I don't know the resorts well enough to think of any where else to eat, lol

Where are you staying?

Try The Wave at the Contemporary. It's supposed to be pretty good, and you can walk there from the MK when you finish up there. They seem to have lots of availability. If you're staying at monorail resort, you could then jump the monorail to get back to your hotel.

Don't know how old your kids are but I would stick with Chef Mickey for 2 reasons: Dinner is much better food than breakfast lately IMHO and what better way to end your first night with guaranteed interaction with Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and Pluto Makes for great pictures and a perfect start to your vacation :thumbsup2

How old are your kids? Will they understand and not be upset to see all the party stuff and not be able,to stay?

I would stick with CM. Even though the party starts at 7, lots of people will be coming into the party by 5, and not a lot of the day people leaving. Great time to leave the crowds. CM is a quick monorail ride or walk from the MK and the kids will love seeing the characters. The food is fine and a great way to end your first day in the park with out being out so late.

Thanks - the kids are 3 &4...I did see that DHS has EMH that night and I heard that there was a Disney Jr. dance party during DHS extra magic hours so - maybe we could take the kids to that after dinner - especially since dinner is at 5:30 - that should give us plenty of time to head to DHS for EMH - i think?

Hi - they are 3 and 4 - I don't know how they would react to that - they will get to go to the party later on in the trip so - maybe it is better to get out of there before all that gears up!

Thanks! I am starting to think that is the best way to go - especially since it is the first day and we will be doing MVMCP later on in the trip....
