The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

As a redhead, Ariel was always my favorite as well. I still feel an "allegiance" to her, in a way. But I think I'd say Merida is my favorite now. I wish she got more love in the parks!
Sally would be the princess I identify most with

Edit to add: Id drop serious cash to stay in a Nightmare Before Christmas themed room

I like Tiana because I like what a go getter she is; a lot of the princesses in older movies are pining away after princes and I appreciate the more modern storyline of Princess and the Frog, plus I love New Orleans. Frozen also has some of these same aspects but the hand drawn styles are my favorite. Ariel was my favorite princess as a child, but the storyline hasn’t aged well IMO. I identify with King Triton a lot more now as a parent.🤣
I like Tiana because the music is so good, never seen the movie but when my kids rotated through that soundtrack I enjoyed it… I’m not defending all of the execution choices but I am grateful to never have to hear the Burrow’s Lament again!

Totally agree with you that my love for Ariel turned into sympathy for Sebastian and horror at the superficiality of her obsession with humans…but at least there’s a theme of tolerance. 🤣

My favorite role model princess is Rapunzel, although we got off to a rocky start when someone gave my toddler a Rapunzel doll that sang the same 8 bars of “When Will My Life Begin” over and over (and sometimes in the middle is the night if things shifted in the toy chest) in a loud and low res voice. I hope Tangled gets more U.S. park representation but I’d take a hotel theme too.

ETA: Oops, I got so distracted by Princess power ranking that I forgot the main comment I wanted to make was “no theme choice is beloved by everyone” — I personally hate the Bambi theming because every time I see Bambi’s mom on my kid’s pull down bed I know what’s going to happen to her. 😭

Favorite Princess: Belle and Leia

I personally would have preferred a continuation of critter country with a Robin Hood themed ride… where Prince John and The Sheriff of Nottingham were trying to capture you!
Love the idea!

We are definitely team Robin Hood! One of our kids at animal kingdom recently.
But theming of the ride needs further explanation: Nick Wild from Utopia comes across a time machine while investigating a break-in at Utopia University’s physics lab. He is sent back in time to Midievel Nottingham and a time warp buddy adventure ensues with Robin Hood and Merlin (to open magic time portals). Critter Country and Tiana’s Bayou become stops in their “Bill and Teds Excellent Adventure”-like experience.

It could have been so much better than the theme of “you have to find a band for my party, ya’ll!” …. seriously, that’s the storyline…. that’s what some of the most creative minds in the world came up with…..

Yeah…theming wise Tiana’s ride is great, but the storyline of the ride leaves a lot to be desired.
