Cancel Raglan Road??

We have only eaten supper at RR but we love it! We usually eat there two or three times each trip. We have had various dishes and never had anything terrible. The Celtic Sangria is yummy too!

We've eaten at Raglan Road at least three times since it's opened and we've always had very good meals and decent service.

I read Nicki's review and it looked and sounded like a very bad night ... but that one experience doesn't mean that the place is shot all to hell any more than my good experiences mean it will be the best meal of your life.

All reviews are a subjective snapshot representative of that person's experience - nothing more and nothing less. If you want to dine at Raglan Road then do it and find out for yourself what you think about it. That's the only way you'll ever know for sure. :goodvibes

We ate there last year and loved it. I didn't really care for the shepard's pie, but it was because I didn't notice it had lamb in it before I ordered it. Everything else was wonderful, though. The Dalkey Duo was the best part!

And I also agree that I was expecting much worse from the pasta & meatballs pictures. It didn't look great, but not that bad. Why anybody would order pasta & meatballs at an Irish pub is beyond me!

Oh... I also happen to like the Soda bread (hockey pucks... and yes ours were hockey pucks as well but good ones :goodvibes )... The Guiness reduction that you did it in for us was very tasty... Its the darker brown park of the dip. We asked for more when we were there...

I agree wholeheartedly!! I liked the soda bread. Yes, it was heavy, but soda bread is made with baking soda instead of yeast, so it is supposed to be heavy. The history of soda bread is that it was made by the poor people of Ireland who could not afford more expensive ingredients. If you try it expecting it to taste like yeast rolls or artisan bread, you will be dissappointed; however, if you go into it looking forward to trying something different you may like it (the guinness reduction was yummy too, just a hint of sweetness).

Ger's Bread & Butter Pudding was the single BEST thing I ate on our entire trip last year!!!!!:lovestruc

No no no! Don't cancel Raglan Road, it's awesome! I agree, those meatballs are gross but they are the only thing on the menu I wouldn't order again. Everything else is delicious!

I have always liked Raglan Road - of course I haven't been there since PI closed and probably won't get there for awhile because PI is closed - but even if I had never been there I would not change my mind based on one photo of one dish.

I have heard their business has dropped since PI closed so I don't know if that's true or how it might have affected them.

My family loves Raglan Road. It's a must for us every trip and we even went twice last time and have an ADR for this August. Like others have said every place can have an off night or meal but we've had great experiences every time so far.

We've eaten at Raglan Road multiple times for both lunch and dinner and have always enjoyed it. I agree those meatballs look gross though.
