Okay, I still can't get the picture of the pasta and meatballs from MickeyNicki's review of Raglan Road out of my head:scared:. I was planning on eating lunch there during my trip in August. I wasn't planning on ordering pasta anyway..I was thinking of a burger or fish & chips. Do you think I will be okay with either of these??? Does anybody think some of their food is good (I've never eaten there, I may not be able to after that picture:sad2:)

I love the food at Raglan Road. It's one of my favorite Disney restaurants. The Fish & Chips are good. However my favorite is the It's Not Bleedin Chowder. It's full of seafood and not soupy.

So my vote is to keep it!

I loved our meal at Raglan Road a few weeks ago!! We had not planned on going there, but were too tired to return to Epcot for dinner, so we snagged a last minute ADR. My entire family loved the food and the atmosphere and agreed that it was the best change of plans ever!! It is definately on our must do list for next time.

We had a great meal at Raglan Road on our January 2009 trip! We ate outside on the patio and my daughter's child cheeseburger and fries was one of the best I've ever had! :)

We are planning to return to Raglan Road when we visit the world in December !!!

I love Raglan Road. I go for not only the really good food but the live entertainment in the evenings.:goodvibes I would definitely keep the reservation.

I saw Nicki's review as well and it looked pretty awful, however, the majority of the recent reviews are still positive ones so I'm hoping they caught it on an extremely rough night. The It's Not Bleedin' Chowder there is one of my favorite entrees in all of WDW!:goodvibes

Thanks for the replies..I think I will keep the reservation. We are going there for lunch on our arrival day..then we will be shopping at DTD and playing mini-golf. Thanks again.

who has a link to the infamous meatball picture. I'm dying to see it!

My hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed Raglan Road. The first time we went he had the burger and I had the Fish n Chips both delish. The second time we shared the burger. The Goat Cheese Salad is the best!!! So SO SOO Good!!!

Yes we went TWICE in the same trip!!! I would definitely not cancel.

I have some friends who have gone twice in the last year especially for the fish and chips and rave about them!:thumbsup2

This is good to know, thanks..it's not good when your first impression of a restaurant gets off to a bad start.

Yeah.. It is definitly not good when you hear bad things about a place that you have your heart set on. Everyone has different tastes/experiences for restaurants. For us Raglan Road was a winner.

The restaurant that we had the worst experience with was Jiko and this is a place that others have had excellent reviews about. We also were not thrilled with Yachtsman Steakhouse. The steaks were without much seasoning/flavor and just did not compare to our favorite steakhouse back home for about the same price point. Others have loved both restaurants. Sometimes even though you have seen a bad review or two the only way to know for sure is to try it yourself.

For Raglan Road the first time we went our server was Vinnie D and he was wonderful. The second time I don't remember his name but he was not as good.

Oh... I also happen to like the Soda bread (hockey pucks... and yes ours were hockey pucks as well but good ones :goodvibes )... The Guiness reduction that you did it in for us was very tasty... Its the darker brown park of the dip. We asked for more when we were there...

I am SUPER excited about our upcoming Raglan Rd 1st visit.

And I just got REALLY nervous opening the pic of the meatballs- i expected MUCH worse :)

Honestly- I kinda think- if you're going to an irish pub- don't order an italian dish and expect it to rock.

This is the same line of thinking I use at places like Sci Fi.

the people I know in real life that have gone to Raglan have RAVED about it- so i'm excited. And i'm so hungry right now that even those meatballs look pretty good to me! :)

What I've learned from planning 2 other trips (and our upcoming trip) using this board is you will get very good and very bad reviews of virtually every place. We had bad experiences at Ohana and LeCellier - we all know the popularity of these place but our experience was not the same as theirs. However I would never tell people not to try it, I'm sure we caught them at a bad time.

I read that thread on RR and while I believe their experience was not good, I won't write off a place based on one (or a few) bad reviews when there's lots of great ones out there.

Ya I agree that I was expecting wayyyy worse with that picture...

Regardless keep the ADR as it was one of the highlights from our trip last year! The place was a Very nice surprise with great atmosphere good food.

This is so true, our worst meal two years in a row was KONA, we'll never go back, BUT it's a huge hit with most folks.

Yeah? You didn't think it looked that bad? I totally agree with the other poster who said don't order Italian at an Irish restaurant(no offense to anyone). I'm Italian, and I don't order pasta with meatballs at an Italian restaurant. I'm glad for all the good comments about RR..thanks for the input.
