Canadians...do you book with disney?

Our next trip is a Bounce Back promotion from our stay last September wich was a Bounce Back promotion from the previous September. So our last three trips have been booked through Disney. Before that I was lucky enough to upgrade a seven day pass to an Annual Pass and then I used it to book two more trips getting discounted room only rates.
I have found it worth my time to book our trips with Disney and do the airfare myself as that way I get the flight times that I want and the best possible rate that I can find.

www.themouseforless.com Our agent was Cindy...she was AWESOME!

I did a lot of the research etc, then she did a terrific job of helping me sort through and prioritize. She got ALL my ADRS within 15 minutes of when I suggested...

She also got us a HUGE discount on our park tickets....

I booked/paid our air separately b/c I found a better price flying out of Detroit, when the dollar was almost par.

On both of our trips, I've booked everything myself. I found that especially with the rental car, I saved a lot just from the info I got on Dis. I've never found a package deal at a better price than what we have paid, although I've checked. So I look at it as paying myself for the time that I have to put into it.

I booked through Disney and it's been great so far, except for our crappy dollar. Now we booked a saturday to sunday and all the TA's I talked to could only do a 7 day package, only Disney could offer me the flexibility that I wanted.
Bought our flight from Sunwing out of Toronto and it was 1700.00 for 4 of us(not bad seeing how it's Toronto we are flying out of and the taxes were higher than the cost of the flight)
So our trip for a family of 4 at the Caribbean Beach Resort with 7 magic your way passes, and our airfare is 3835.00 Cdn(not too bad I think)

That's weird! Why couldn't the TAs book the number of days you wanted? My TA booked us for 8 days and then I changed it to 10 days - the final number of days will depend on what flights I can find LOL

My thoughts exactly.

Sounds like the OP went to a regular TA who only books Disney through Nolitours or other such tour operators and therefore really knows nothing about WDW. Only real Disney Specialists book with Walt Disney Travel Company directly. They would of been able to book the MYW package for anywhere from 1 to 14 nights.

They said it had to be a package of 7 or 14 days we wanted a different amount of days.

Yes, they said it was Nolitours . UGH oh well I had a very great time booking with Disney, it's just unfortunate the dollar isn't doing so well right now

IMO, for your next Disney trip, book either with Disney or with a Disney-specialist TA only.

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

Right there with you!!:thumbsup2

I've never booked through Disney. I think it's too expensive, plus we save money an only stay offsite. This time we booked through Travelocity.ca (good deal). Other times I've booked through AMA, Sears and Expedia.ca

The last 2 times we went we booked online through the Disney site. I loved having everything at my fingertips. Also probably a bit of a control issue :) .

i used dreamsunlimted. i made multiple changes to to my ADR and asked tons of questions. my agent Merrie was really great!

We booked the trip previously through CAA. They offer a few little bonuses that we like (parking, storeytime etc). I book the flights myself out of Detroit.
The cost for the trip I don't think is really any better.

Nope, I now book with a Disney Specialist TA - a Canadian agency that is certified by TICO.

Me TOO!!!!:goodvibes Always best to book with someone that REALLY knows what they are doing! It is so much fun being able to share your excitement with someone else that loves it too!

Who's the wicked awesome Canadian travel agent? I usually book directly through Disney but I don't feel like doing it myself anymore. When I tried to book our upcomming trip I spent 45 minutes on hold with disney and their website was down. I won't be doing that again!

The wickedly awesome Canadian Disney-specialist travel agency is Fairytale Dreams & Destinations - they are wonderful, simply wonderful :thumbsup2 I would never book a Disney vacation without them :goodvibes
