Canadians...do you book with disney?

IMO, for your next Disney trip, book either with Disney or with a Disney-specialist TA only.

Have a great trip! :goodvibes

In defence of Nolitours... (and i don't work for them..i'm a computer nerd), we booked ours through Marlin Travel which (a) uses Nolitours, and (b) gives out Airmiles for our booking.

We priced our vacation on the Disney website last fall when they were running the buy 4 nights get 3 free promotion.
For 9 nights stay at Port Orleans French Quarter (Moderate resort), 7 day Park Hoppers, and Disney Dining (the regular one, not deluxe), the Disney website came to about $3300US for 2 adults, 2 kids.

We went to Marlin travel and the exact same package came to $3400 Canadian, all taxes included, plus we get airmiles. Given our dollar has really tanked, i'm glad we went with Marlin. We also got the $200US disney gift card that was part of the promotion Disney was running. So i couldn't tell if there were any difference between what we were able to get using Marlin than if we had booked directly with Disney (but i need to point out that i'd never booked directly with Disney before).

just as a reference point, we paid $40/adult per day for the Disney dining plan. In Canadian funds. The same plan costs $40/adult/day , in American funds, if you purchase through disney directly.

(writing all this up from our room at the POFQ... the parks are busier this week than when we first got here last thursday! Quite a few Ontario license plates in the parking lot :-)

W booked through CAA. The discount we received booking through them allowed us to book the Savannah view at AK.

Did you get a CAA discount on top of a deal that Disney was offering?? Curious because I saw someone say they did with AAA - but CAA gave me the exact same price as Disney.

I believe that CAA and AAA discounts are room only discounts so if you are booking a package the discount does not apply (but you can book the room and purchase your tickets, just not as a package). If you use a TA that does not work with CAA they can still get you the discount on the room portion if there is availability for that discount.

I had booked a CAA package, but then I switched to room only. Now I will tell you I got the Disney special (Pounce into spring) and paid 179.00 a night for my AKL - Standard View Room. That was the price that Disney quoted me online, and when I called CAA that is the price they gave me. Just wondering if they normally offer a discount on top of a Disney discount. Anybody know???

Disney will not allow two discounts on the same package.....unfortunately. For arguement sake though, the bounceback deal gives you two discounts. BUT you cannot use two discounts, for example you have a pin code for 40% off and you know you can get a 20% discount from CAA...you can't combine the two. Hope that helps!
