Canadians Canz Buy Disney Dollars?

Hi:

I just found out some of my dh's family are heading for the parks this January and we thought we would like to give them Disney Dollars for their Christmas gift. Like an idiot, I spent 30 minutes online trying to purchase them gift cards only to discover at the bitter end they don't ship to Canada. Two phone calls later, a CM at our retail Disney store here said I could purchase the dollars online but she didn't sound uber confident.

Anyone managed to purchase and have disney dollars shipped to Canada? If yes, may I have the contact # info, please.

I had mine shipped to a friend that lived in the states and she mailed them to me.

If you live close to the US border, you can buy Disney Cards at some department stores over there...I saw them at Meijers for sure, you can also check Walmart.

Well, the short answer is that Disney ships nothing to Canada without a $100 shipping fee min. You should be able to buy Disney gift cards at Canadian Disney stores?? I bought mine at a US Disney store and they are good for any Disney online or park / resort purchase.

Otherwise, why not wrap some US dollars in a dollarama disney wallet or give them mickey stickers as a gift. THey'll still love it!

There is a way to buy Disney Gift Cards online from Disney.com but the international shipping charge is $25.00!

If you go to disney.com and choose a park (Disneyland has a nicer gift card selection IMO) you can find the link to the CGs under "tickets and packages". Here, you can have them shipped to Canada.

Well, the short answer is that Disney ships nothing to Canada without a $100 shipping fee min. You should be able to buy Disney gift cards at Canadian Disney stores?? I bought mine at a US Disney store and they are good for any Disney online or park / resort purchase.

Otherwise, why not wrap some US dollars in a dollarama disney wallet or give them mickey stickers as a gift. THey'll still love it!

Unfortunately the cards sold in Canada are only available in Canadian funds.

We had resolved ourselves to sending them US dollars in a special Mickey Christmas card -- but by the time you add the cost of the card, the time taken to go to the bank and do the currency exchange c/w fees, and then insure and mail the envelope, we could be looking at $20 extra for sure - so...maybe the $25 shipping isn't looking THAT bad...lol

I see the shipping is done by FedEx. Are we looking at fees from them too upon arrival? I'd hate for my MIL to face fees to receive the cards....

Wish I'd known about their upcoming trip while we were in WDW a few weeks ago.

No extra charges. I bought $800.00 to make the 25.00 shipping somewhat worth it.
They are sent by FedEx and must be signed for. Make sure you put them in MIL's name.
