What a WONDER(FUL), MAGIC(AL), DREAM(Y), FANTASY fulfilling vacation!!!

My amazing girlfriend (Halloween_gryl) managed to fill the room at Saratoga with balloons just before we sailed on the Fantasy and she propsed to me!!!! We are engaged!!! I AM SO HAPPY!!!

ok - back to inside voice....I also proposed to her while on the cruise - we had decided months ago that we both should propose - there are no rules for same gender couples so we are making it up as we go...and loving it!

My traveling friend Michael who is not on the Dis has decided that he would like to make lanyards for everyone who is interested in them. These will be free (if anyone would like to contribute to the cost - please PM me and I will forward his information to you).

Many cruises have lanyards and lanyard teams - and since no one has started this on this cruise Michael offered to do this for all of us.

There is a google doc for this (yea, I seem to use them a lot) this one is an open document - meaning you can edit the information yourself.

PLEASE DO NOT SORT THIS LIST - WE WILL TAKE CARE OF THAT - JUST ADD YOUR INFORMATION AT THE BOTTOM PLEASE

The document is self explainatory, but just follow the list entering your cabin number, dis name, real name and if you are going to contribute to the list cost or not. Again, please do not sort the list, the Hawaii list got sorted incorrectly and it was so messed up it had to be trashed and restarted.

Now I'll use my inside voice too. And you are quite wrong. There certainly ARE rules for same gender couples. The rule is that someone has to start setting some precedents, so it might as well be you! What a wonderful idea to propose to each other!

I realize that my post about the lanyards were a bit cryptic. I hope that this will clear up some of the muddy waters

Lanyard information
These lanyards (assuming Michael follows the pattern set by others in the past) will have a slogan that is specific to the cruise and will have a small card attached that will have each person's name (Dis Name if applicable).

For much larger cruises (the Hawaii list is over 500 long) the contribution was 35.00 (all voluntary) and I am happy to defray the costs to the originator of the list. He set up a paypal account and I just sent the money via Pay Pal. I know that Michael is setting one up this week and I will be sending that information to folks who indicated that they are willing to contribute.

I have a collection of these and I really treasure them as part of the memory of the cruise.

For other cruises, they lanyards are usually given out at the meet n greet, but I suspect Michael may want to do it at his sailaway thing on top deck starboard. If the lanyard is not picked up - then we deliver them to the FE or cabin fish hook later on that night or the next night. There will be a write on board on our cabin so pick up info will be posted there.

The actual cost is not known yet - this will depend on the number needed. Michael mentioned that he will most likely order 100 pieces, since in the past they were often give them to cast members as well.

As I get more information from him I will post it...I hope this clears up some of the confusion.

(I stopped my daily D&D run and put $2 into an envelope every day I ride by and don't stop). Only been doing that for a short time, but put $45 in the bank last week (that's one excursion).

Thank you for the congrats....we are so happy to be official, just frustrated that we live so far apart (we are working on her moving to NJ with me...but her employer doesn't have a job in my area yet )

I hear you on the dollar thing...the contribution is not a specific amount - the Hawaii originator asked for that, but was willing to accept less - he just added to the number of people contributing! I chose the 35, since I know the memories are worth it. Give me a few hours I will take a photo of my old lanyards (Michael hasn't ordered them yet - since we don't know how MANY to order!!)

TODAY IS APRIL 17 - tax day!!! And more importantly the last day to sign up for the FE list. I will officially close the list when I get home from work in the morning. (unless you all want me to wait until Saturday??)

As of right now:

we have
22 cabins
51 adults
9 children (6 female, 1 male)

I have one late comer who has not posted on the thread yet who I added - her adult daughter may be joining us I am waiting for an email answer on that. No other additions have contacted me - please check the info on the doc and see if I have it all correct. We have 3 groups without cabin numbers - but those will be posted on my door if it waits until boarding time...I will keep the list up to date as I get cabin numbers for those folks.
