Canadian Magic ~ June 10, 2012

Hi all you Canada Trailblazers!!!!! :thumbsup2 We over on the 6/17 Canada cruise were wondering if any of you CC Plats had been able to see the times yet for the shore excursions? If no plats here, any golds that will be scheduling soon? We would all appreciate any times you can tell us for any of the shore excursions so we can all make our plans accordingly!! Some of us want to try to squeeze in 2 a day if the times are right! Thanks for any help you can give us!!!!:flower3:

Ok - here are all the times, but I have a question...why do you want this? You will not be able to "stack" excursions - because the cruise line insists that there be at least 1.5 hours between return time and leaving on the next excursion. None of these times are fixed and will not be until we dock, so all the times are purely for overview and planning - not time specific. good luck with what ever you are planning!

Thank you so much for the times! I think some people were hoping for one in am and then another one in afternoon but looks like that is not possible. Well maybe now they can plan one and something else on their own.

Did you notice if any Palos brunch and/ or teas? If so, both sea days? Thanks again for all you info!!!! :flower3:

yes to all of the above. No point in posting the times because they are different on every cruise.

FYI - DCL will seldom let you do two excursions without a long break between them I have done it....in St Petersberg I set a record according to the crew of the Magic - I did 6 excursions in 2 days. In order to make it happen, I had to sign off on each one with the understanding that if I came back late from any of them I would miss the next and still have to pay for it. I also had to go through customs both directions between each excursion. Port Adventures would NOT allow me to even consider it unless there was 90 minutes between the return and leaving times. That is why I use that window of time.

The computer will not allow you to book them unless there is 2+ hours between those times. This all has to be done onboard and about 2 days before the excursions, because that is when the vendor will be contacted about the number of people and the time set as final. All the fees are non-refundable at this point in time - used to be one could cancel onboard without paying - this is not the case any longer.

As of yesterday afternoon brunch and high tea were available on each of the sea days, and dinner was available each night. I booked our brunch for Monday, my high tea for Thursday and my dinner for Tuesday! We haven't decided about excursions yet, but we'll make up our minds before the end of the weekend and get that all settled. I'm coming up to a busy time at work and I don't want to forget to do all this!

Beth

Thanks for all the information on shore excursions and Palos. This will help a a lot in our planning as we get ready to book ours soon! :thumbsup2

I'm in a Fantasy world while watching the Dream on the Port web cam. I Wonder what kind of Magic we will experience on our cruise? :cool1::goodvibes:)

unless there is a sudden ground swell - we will close this list on April 10. If anyone joins after that date - they may or may not receive gifts from everyone on the list.

I put the close date on the spreadsheet.

I will break the group up if the number of cabins exceeds 30 (that would make it 15 in each group). However - if you wish to do both groups - that is acceptable as well. Just let me know (assuming we get to those numbers) we are at 17 cabins now. Is everyone ok with this?

Any thoughts on how to split it? by deck or fore/aft?

I like 30 days, I feel bad if someone come in after the cut off date, I also agree to break up the list if it gets over 30. I just got off the Magic yesterday:sad: and we split up the list. one list was for adults and older kids. and the other one was for familys with younger kids. It worked great. BTW there is a new Castaway gift. blue back pack and new snacks.

Unfortunately, we wont be able to join you guys on the cruise :guilty:
It is ok, because I have made the change to Christmas. I am going to look forward to any trip reports that come about :goodvibes

So no more drink canisters? Those were useful while onboard, what else was in the bag?

Sorry you won't be joining us - I do not think you were on the FE list, right?

no more drink canisters (I did not like them anyway), the snacks were a bag of pretzels and a container of goldfish shaped like micky. there is also a new keychain.

So, you gave out Adult gifts and family gifts? :confused3 I like that idea :lmao:

I did one bag per cabin, but us being aduts only I did like having the order kids on your list.

we had over 30 cabins so the list was split in two.

Our list (since we were adults only) had the cabins with adults only and cabins with older kids ( I think the cut off was around 10).
The other list was familys with younger kids.

We did have a few people that gave out a gift to everyone. That was very nice of them, but I did feel bad that I did not have anything for them

It worked out will.

I have a question for all of my fellow train travelers: What is the best way to get from Penn Station to the pier? Is it walkable? Do you think Disney will have any type of shuttle available? (I know wishful thinking, but maybe, just maybe) :goodvibes

As much as I wish there was going to be a shuttle, I highly doubt Disney would provide one. And as far as walking, it is about a 2 mile walk. I know I surely wouldn't lug all my bags for 2 miles.
The subway doesn't run all the way to the pier nor does a bus line so my best suggestion is to just catch a cab. really shouldn't cost ya more than $10 each way.

You beat me to it Patty. I was just comimg here to do this!
