Hey everyone, just thought I would stop in and say hello. I have been very busy lately and it seems like the time had arrived to start making some lists. YAY!!
Hope everyone is doing great! Is anyone here from South Ontario or Ottawa area? Snow??? Craziness! Haven't seen a flake here yet...but apparently up north (who generally gets more snow than us) got some about a week back I think it was.

Hi! I am in Ottawa, and the kids were in their full snowsuits on Wednesday! They went trick-or-treating in sweaters though! I have been very busy rearranging my trip due to the exchange rate - I ended up booking through Sears and its costing about $100 more than I planned instead of up to $400 more! That meant I had to switch resorts to POR though, I was going to stay at CBR. I stayed at French Quarter in Dec 2006 so POR was my third choice (I would have liked to try CSR too) but when I went to book only POR was available. But now at least it is all settled! I couldn't take watching the exchange rate one more day (and now of course its higher again!). The day the Disney reservation balance was due was Monday (45 days out) which was its lowest point!

Ugh, I know! The dollar is like playing russian roullette, crazy! The dollar seems to be hovering over .82 now. I paid our balance at about .78. Ah well, we still have money to trade up next pay, so hopefully it will go up just a little more. I don't want our economy to be hurting, so it can stay low, just go up long enough for us to trade up
Hope everyone's Halloween went well! It was a little chilly, but perfect here. No rain, minor winds. Kids got SO much candy. But ds's bday party is Dec 6th, so I am stashing a lot away for some awesome treat bags ALl the kids will love getting them... many parents will be giving me the evil eye Im sure lol.

Thanks for letting me know! Yes, I remember the 10 posts thing. lol I will keep an eye out in the mail. I have about half the payments. Canada Post can be slow when they want to.

Ok, I tried to PM everyone, but Im getting lost with whom I already PMd and who I haven't. lol
One of members isn't going to DW due to some personal situations she is in. Just by luck, one of my DIS friends is going down the same week as I. She lives in MIss. (US not Ontario) and would like to join. Im just checking with ya'll since this is a CA thread. I can't see why it makes any diff..but I wanted to ask anyway.

For those who have sent me cheques... and I have received them, I have been meaning to cash them before now. But I will be tonight. DH has been super busy at work, and I haven't had the car at a good time to go out and cash them. We are going out to eat for dinner and I will stop by the bank tonight. Takes a cpl days for the $$ to get on my cc and as soon as it is on, I will preorder.

Can anyone believe we are all so close to going to DW????? Bad memory, but one of us leaves Nov 30th! Whoever it is, Im excited FOR YOU! lol

Oh good! Im so glad you guys are still going! It will help, Im sure! It's a shame you are having such a hard time finding someone. I hope someone wants to go with you!!


So would another person be too many people? Also there is the difference in money if that matters to anyone. Again, I've never done this, so all input is good input!!

As I understand it, they will just give us a second disc if we have too many pictures. I do think we should assign days or times and edit our pics in turn, so the discs are more organized and the site is faster. But I agree we should close it now, and make the total at 7.

And since I am on the end, I just hope no one closes it before I get back!!

You can just send the money I overpaid back with my disc.

My friend said she wanted her pics before Christmas. (or something I didnt ask!) So she will just get the photopass on her own.

I didn't think the $$ would be on the cc yet, but I called anyway. Still not on it yet. Soon though. I hate that it takes so long to get money on our cc!!

Ok, so just to be sure, once it is on the cc... I go to the website and sign up? Any veterans able to shed some light?

I don't know if you sign up before the trips since it is prepaid. I thought that once you did the first upload you only had 30 days after that to finish everything up, so I wasn't going to do anything with my photos until I got back on the 14th. I'd be the first to upload and edit and then yanjan or hiho would be next on the 18th, etc. Did they give you a code/login info when you paid? If so I'm guessing you wait until the first upload to activate the account, or maybe you can activate but as long as you don't upload a photo yet then the 30 day time limit doesn't start yet. I just want to make sure Beechnut has time to do her photos within the 30 days however it works.

I was worried about that in the beginning too. But you are right. As long as you don't upload until you get back, I will have enough time to do mine.

Honeystar you may want to confirm that you can purchase, just not activate until Dec 14th and the 30 days starts from there, not from when it's purchased.

It looks like you get the info via email, go to the parks, come back and use the email info to upload photos, in that order.

I found this on another website:

You will be emailed a coupon code specific to you that will zero out the cost of the PhotoCD when you're ready to order it.

An important thing to note, however, is that you are time limited to how long your photos are available online, so keep this in mind when you make your decision. You have 30 days to claim the photos by adding the card number to your account and the photos will then expire and be deleted 30 days from that point.

So I'm guessing this means that it doesn't matter when you prepay for the photopass, but it sounds like it shouldn't be activated or pics uploaded until after the trip because then you have 30 days to upload from that point.

Either way, there's no need to activate it before anybody gets back so it's probably safest to just wait until the 14th. Honeystar should have a coupon code via email that she will just have to give us when we need to load and edit.

Right, that is what I thought. I can prepay and get the login ID and Password but nothing happens within the account until the first upload. Everyone will have the loginID and password before we all leave.

Just waiting on the SLOW transfer to the credit card to complete.

Also, since I have been learning as I go (along with a couple of you ) If you see a picture that is just too cute and you want to order a product that they offer (say a mug) you can do so and I can add your address so it goes right to you. I get a lot of help on this board, so I can't say I came across this info, but I just wanted to let you all know.

Time to get the kids to bed!! Oh what a day. Typical Monday !!!
