Canadian DEC Photopass Share

I have a couple of questions from reading on other posts.

When we pre-pay we are given a 'photopass ID account" Do we all give the photographers the same number? I assume they will email it to Honeystar, and she will email it to all of us??

Also from reading someone's post (Squirrel"s I thing) They all edit the pictures in order. So it's easier to separate the pictures. 1st person back starts and when everyone is home, 2nd person can only start when 1st person is finished, etc, until the last person is done (that's me so far!) and the order is closed. Then when Honeystar gets the disc(s) and copies the disc everyone's pictures are in order, and it's much easier to copy 1-235 for 1st disc, 235 to 422 on second disc,,,or howmany ever pics each person ends up with ,etc .... Also it is supposed to be much slower to load and edit if more than 1 person is doing it on the same account at the same time.

did I understand that right? Is that how we will be doing it? Or are you planning on just copying the disc and everyone gets everyones pics?

I'm willing to wait for more if it saves money :yay: Any more than 7 people makes it too hard to load. If we use up more than 1 disc Disney just sends as many discs as we need. I have read (again , sorry! never done this either ) that some people add every border available, and every option available to every picture, because it's less time consuming and some people end up with over 400 pics. (Now that's getting your money's worth!) This will prob be what I do, since I am getting back the last, and we only have 30 days to edit pics from the time we start editing. And just to be sure, no one can access the pictures until we get back Jan 1st. Is that correct? (Just making sure, that means you guys will not be able to access your pics for christmas! - hope that's ok? )

OH - I do have some US cash if you would prefer me to send you that?

thanks

ONLY 2 MONTHS TO GO. :cool1: Have to tell DD soon :dance3:

Basically your given a card that says photopass. on the backside there is a number and a bar code.

the photographer use the bar code to update the picture.

you can have as many cards as you want.

when you log on it will ask you for all the numbers. you can imput as many as you want and they will all be added to the list. first year we went we had over 500 pictures.

the photograhers are all over the place. they wear a vest that says photopass on the back. just ask them for a picture, if you have your card give it to them ,if not youll get a new one.

so basically when everybody gets back well have to pm honeystar and give her our number in the back, she'll add them to hers and get all the pictures on one or 2 if to many cd's. she burns them and send them to you.

alright wheres the easy button. "THAT WAS EASY":thumbsup2

This part of it Im also a little confused on. Basically, what I was told from another person doing the PhotoPass Share is that there will be no seperation or editing, everyone just gets that same cd...with everyone's pictures on it. Now, the only thing that I don't agree with is that you guys need to be able to go and add borders and such as you see fit. So any seasoned PhotoPassers can add to this. I don't think we can be or should be on at the same time. Im sure that will just make it really slow, or kick the 1st user off or something. So would setting select days that would work best for everyone right after their vacations be helpful? I really don't know. I just want you all to have access to edit your photos before I close it and order the master disc.

did I understand that right? Is that how we will be doing it? Or are you planning on just copying the disc and everyone gets everyones pics?

Ok, again anybody can correct me if Im wrong, and if nobody knows I will find out. From what I understand is that you can go in and see your pictures (just as long as I have added those card numbers first....now I do want to be the one to add the pictures just to keep them all straight and in order. Also, apparently if someone was to 'close' the account that is it, we would have to start over basically.) but once those numbers are added, you guys can go on and look at them while you are on vacation or when you get home. Also, the 30 days starts when the first picture (Again, I believe) is taken. Not from editing.

OH - I do have some US cash if you would prefer me to send you that?

As much as that sounds like gold nowadays lol Im not sure how to do the value difference. Also, shipping cash might not be the best idea. Again, not that I would mind American cash. Money is money. :)

thanks

Holy smokes, when are you telling dd???

Do we tell them that we have prepaid?

Absolutely! In fact, when you PM me with how you want to make the payment, I will email you my personal email address just so you have it and we can email directly back and forth with the numbers and such.

alright wheres the easy button. "THAT WAS EASY":thumbsup2

HAHAHAHAHA! When I was pregnant for #2 I wanted one of those easy buttons for when I was in labour. Im sure it would have been thrown across the room at some point. DH gave me the look, so I never did get it. :lmao:

you dont have to tell them anything about prepaid. they just care about taking pictures and getting more money for the boss.

we got one of those at work. when somebody comes in a panic we just tell him to press it and relax.

if we can set a time frame and get the password and such to go online and to some customs work to our pictures that would be good. you save it and get a new number with it. it keeps the original and saves another with addons. the only problem is how much to do you trust others with your logon and password.

sorry.
So the first person goes Dec 11 and starts getting pics taken. I dont arrive until the 18th (first day at the parks.) So are people able to be editing the pics from their cards while I am still taking pics . I kind of thought , but was not really sure that no one will be able to access the site until I get back, jan1st. and that means we all have to load and edit and whatever BEFORE Jan10 (30 days from first picture) ?? or do we wait until I am back and have 30 days from Jan2nd when we start editing?? (I'm a bit paranoid, and imagining someone's computer crashing and we miss the small window)

If that's the way it is, then each person will only have 2 days to access the site, one at a time, to get our pictures in the way we want them loaded on the disc? In order for them to be loaded in order for Honeystar to know that the first 234 are hers, and from 235 to 615 or whatever belong to the next person...

The other share thread was updated with people saying OK I'm done, next, and the next person in the group did theirs and let the next know when they could edit.

OR if you are allowed to edit while I am still taking pics, then you guys can be practically done before I even get back. :yay:

DD is very excitable (doesn't sleep the night before anything!) So can't tell her too soon, or she will be crawling the walls too excited to sleep. We have a large family dinner 1st weekend in Dec - so maybe with the gift exchange there will be a present for our family from Santa with the news. That gives us about 10 days before we leave (OMG !! That soon!!:rotfl2: )

Borrowed from another thread

IMPORTANT: From the time the first photo is loaded onto the group photopass account you must be done editing, and order the CD within 30 days. So everybody needs to get their photopass IDs added to the account as soon as possible upon their return. The sooner the better, so that everyone can get their CDs ASAP. (Some leaders may chose to assign "load days" for each group member, to avoid confusion, and to have all of a particular family's pictures grouped together.)

and also

I just finished being part of a group. Instead of us giving the leader our numbers we each picked a day as our day. We then entered our own numbers on that day. That way when we edited our pictures they would stay in order. She then gave us a week to finish the editing. Less then a week before everyone left she sent a group email to remind us of our days and gave us the username and password. On my day I entered my numbers and was able to complete ALL of my editing on that day. Then I emailed her back to let her know I was done.

That gives us 30 days from the day that Honeystar opens the account.
I think :confused3

I'd be interested, but I'm going Nov. 30th-Dec. 13th so I don't know if that would work. The way I'm understanding it is that the 30-day timeframe doesn't start until the first pic is loaded into the account. So if I have photopass cards and I don't enter them into the account until I get back from my trip on Dec. 14th or 15th (we're driving), then we would have until Jan. 14th to finish up all the loading and editing of everyone's cards. If that is the case then sign me up as that will give us plenty of time in the 30 day window :)

I found this in another photopass share thread:

1) Get a photopass card from a photopass photographer when they take your pictures in the parks. Have fun and have lots of photopass photographers take your picture. Each photographer will scan your photopass card to add photos to your photopass card id number.

2) When you get home, rather than create your own Photopass account on the Disney Photopass website, you will use a photopass account that is already created by the group of people that you have prearranged to share with.

3) All the people in this group add their photopass card IDs to this same account on the Disney Photopass website. The leader will assign you a specific date that you are required to upload you photos. This will keep all the photo in order of family. You can edit your photos there (add borders, crop, etc) within the 30 days from the first upload. Once everyone in the group has added their photos and edited their pictures. The leader will order the CD

4) Everyone's pictures will be on this CD. The person who ordered it will make copies for all other people in the group and mail them their copies. You can then take this CD to any photo place and get your photos developed as you wish because Disney sends a copyright release with the CD.

5) There is no limit to how many pictures you can take. If a group has enough pictures to fill more than one CD, Disney will send as many additional CD's as it takes at no extra charge.

I bolded the part that applies to the timeframe, so hopefully if this is true I can hop into this photopass share with all of you :) It makes more sense that they would start the 30 days after the first upload but if we could always double-check to be sure first. Then if that is the case we could do it where I have from Dec. 14-18 to input and edit my photos, then yanjan has from Dec. 19-22, Honeystar from Dec. 23-26, bluenosemickey from Dec. 27-30, and Beechnut from Jan. 2-5. Roughly estimating it all of course since I'm not even approved in the share at this time.

Disney's PhotoPass Photos

Photos linked to a Disney's PhotoPass ID will be available online by the morning after the photos were taken. Guests must claim photos within 30 days from when the photos were taken. Photos not claimed within 30 days from which they were taken will no longer be available. Once photos are claimed and associated to a DisneyPhotoPass.com account, they will be available for viewing, sharing and purchasing for 30 days from the date they were claimed, after which the photos will no longer be available.

I gather from this information, that as long as the people travelling people do not "claim" the pictures until they get back, the timeline that emmsmama will work nicely for us.

Sounds great guys!! I was trying to dig up this info and just couldnt find it online. Glad you guys did! :)

Alrighty, so I will add ya Emmsmama to the roll call and I will close up the thread.

I was told no more than 5-6 as it really creates problems? If this isn't the case then that is totally fine. lol That is just what one of the ladies who has a photopass share going told me. :confused3

Oh, did you guys know that the pictures from the ride on Test Track get added to Photopass? YAY! It's the only ride pictures that are added though.

Cool, thanks guys :cool1: This will free me up to not feel like I have to be behind the camera to catch the memories on film constantly, so I can actually just focus on having fun with my family! There was no way I was paying $100+, but this will work out great  Just lmk how much and when to pay :)

Welcome emmsmama!

Ya me too. Most of our 'family" pics have me (the photographer)missing! this should be great!

where are you from emmsmama?

welcome

its our fourth time in 3 years. if anybody got some questions let me know.

I am going Dec 11-18. I don't think I would take that many pictures, but I think its worth it even just to get the ride photo from Test Track. I could probably do my editing in a single day too, especially over the Christmas holidays. Let me know!

That's good with me. Just PM me with your email address and I will send along payment. Reconfirm the price and the rules for signing on with the numbers and the edit deadlines. :thumbsup2

That sounds good with me too.
If we have 6 the 100 usd + disc and postage makes it really reasonable.

Honeystar can you let me know how much it comes to and I will email you the money.
thanks again for doing this.

Hi guys, sorry I have been mia!! It was a super busy week last week. DD finally got her 18 mos shots at the dr, and voting and election, and my friend from Ontario was in town. ACK! So sorry! I will get the roll call fixed up. So we have 6 now? Welcome Hidiho! (if I have your name right lol) I have been trying to watch the CAD... it's going lower today. SO I think we can get payment on the way. It has been roughly .84 for some time now. I will PM each one of you in the next day or 2.

Thanks for your patience guys!

There we are, I just PM'd everybody. If you didn't get a PM (for whatever reason) just let me know.

Hope everyone's day is going well. It's freezing here! Brrr
*thoughts of Florida to warm me up*
