Canadian Buffoon's Solo Disney Vacation - Update 07/08! pp99 - Here today gone tomorrow

YES!!! I am so glad you ate all those Zebra Domes. When you said you would eat two, and give two away.... I thought, OK, nice gesture, he's a nice guy, buuuutttt..... Come on!! Live a little! Eat them ALL, and ALL AT ONCE!!!

Just finished the Europe TR. Your description of your pain and agony had me in pain and agony. And yes, silver linings... it happened at the right time, in the right place. Glad you're on the mend enough now to enjoy DW in all its glory, and all the attractions and coasters!

In hindsight, I'm glad I ate those puppies, too!
In hindsight, I was going to give two away, but they were just too good!
In hindsight, if I keep eating those things my hinds gonna grow outta sight.

Just finished the Europe TR.

A blast from the past!
Did you enjoy it?

Your description of your pain and agony had me in pain and agony.

I seem to recall that it wasn't the most fun I'd experienced while on vacation. :rolleyes1

And yes, silver linings... it happened at the right time, in the right place. Glad you're on the mend enough now to enjoy DW in all its glory, and all the attractions and coasters!

It all worked out, although I'm still miffed that I didn't get to Murano that day.
And I was soooo nervous, leading up to the Disney trip.
I kept thinking, "Don't hurt your back. Don't hurt your back...."

I loved the Europe TR! Not only did I love seeing it vicariously through your eyes, but I had my daughter look at your pictures and read the Paris portion. She will be attending Oxford her junior year of college and can't wait to visit Paris while she's over there (French is one of her minors). She was excited before, now she's OVER the top excited!!

Your daughter will love Paris. It's absolutely wonderful.
I don't remember if I wrote this in my TR or not, but all four of us didn't want to leave it.

So fun you got to meet with Dawn and Miss Caitlin and Dale! Prime Time sounds fun but I would be afraid they would yell at me if I couldn't eat it all, which I usually can't.

Darla took my guess - you did say three rides. No little Mermaid? :confused3

Yes I did! And it was such a treat for me!

I believe they make you eat your greens if you leave those.
I do know they didn't pay Caitlin because she didn't finish.
No yelling though.

Darla took my guess - you did say three rides. No little Mermaid? :confused3

Especially since there are so few rides, you certainly can pick the same as someone else.
So I've got you down for ToT, RnR Coaster and Star Tours.

And no. No Little Mermaid.
Even if she is my favourite princess... for no particular reason...

Bonus points to whoever can guess the next three rides I go on.

Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

Hmm. The way you wrote three has me thinking this is a trick question.

Ride 1. RnRC
Ride 2. RnRC
Ride 3. ToT

Me personally all three would be RnRC, but Lady H likes ToT so we have to do that at least once per trip.

 No, not a trick question.
It really was three separate rides.
But I like the way you're thinking!

I too could ride RnRC multiple times... but did I?????

You guys all settled into your new work digs yet?

Good thinking Thumper Man! It would have been a coup for you if you had been right!
You guys must really like RnRC. The three times DH and i have been to WDW we've only ridden once! We don't like the take off our being thrown about in the dark. Now EE, on the other hand is DH's favorite ride in all of WDW. He has to go on that more than once. In fact, the last time we went I sent him to get some paper fast passes while I waited outside of Yak n Yeti since we had an ADR there. I waited forever and wonered what was taking him so long. He had hopped in the single rider line and rode EE while I was waiting! He doesn't take his phone to the parks so he had no way of letting me know what he was doing. BAD DH!!!
My favorite ride is TOT but we only go on it once. It's kind of intense.
We always seem to go on TSMM twice though. We like that because of the competition factor.
We aren't big on shows or parades either.
Let me guess...Ariel is your favorite because of her outfit? Because there's not much to it?

Well it's been a while and I never really posted that much but it's nice to be back on a Ponzie TR. I just stopped in to see how Nebo was doing an lo and behold a new TR! Happy to be joining in! Am I too late to join the contest? I say Mr Ponzie with an ADR in the Prime Time

Hi! Just getting caught up on your last couple updates. So you saw Nemo! I didn't guess that. :sad2: It's so hard to decide on a show to see at AK. I think we're going to see FOTLK and Flights of Wonder. Birds of prey are my favorite. But I can see that Nemo would not be waste either.

I'm not really looking forward to seeing all those construction walls but I guess it's better than seeing them building toothpicks. :confused3

Hey, don't feel bad about eating all those Zebra Domes. You're only human.

I can see from what's left of the hat that the view will be improved. I didn't necessarily mind the had (my son loves Sorcerer Mickey) but it will be nice to see the Chinese theater at the entrance.

I love how you describe your nervousness about your Dis meet. Glad you had a nice time.

::yes::

The three times DH and i have been to WDW we've only ridden once!

:faint:

We don't like the take off our being thrown about in the dark.

:woohoo:

The smiley is the DISboards equivalent of the monosyllabic response. :rolleyes1

the last time we went I sent him to get some paper fast passes while I waited outside of Yak n Yeti since we had an ADR there. I waited forever and wonered what was taking him so long. He had hopped in the single rider line and rode EE while I was waiting!

I probably would've done the same thing
Then I would've gone back with some lame excuse
("You wouldn't believe the line up for fast passes!
Then the machine needed paper and the CMs were having trouble with it.")

Then I would've come clean and received my beating.

My favorite ride is TOT but we only go on it once. It's kind of intense.

I'll agree with that.
The only reason I go on it now is for everything that happens
before it starts dropping you.

We always seem to go on TSMM twice though. We like that because of the competition factor.

That's probably the number one reason why it's so popular.
That one and Buzz.
"I beat you!"
"Oh, yeah? Bet you can't do it again!"

Let me guess...Ariel is your favorite because of her outfit? Because there's not much to it?

I'm quite sure that Arial is every guy's favourite princess.
And as for there being not much of her outfit?
I couldn't disagree more.
I've always felt that Ariel is grossly overdressed.

:rolleyes1:

Well it's been a while and I never really posted that much but it's nice to be back on a Ponzie TR.

Hey! I remember you!
It has been a while.
I went back and checked... last time I saw you was four TRs ago!

So nice to see you again! :)
And welcome to the TR! :goodvibes

I just stopped in to see how Nebo was doing an lo and behold a new TR!

Wait. Wait, wait, wait. Just hold on a sec'.
You mean the only reason you stopped by was to see Nebo????????
Not me??????

So. Hurt.
Crushed.

Actually, I called Nebo about two or three weeks ago to see how he was doing.
His wrist, while still not great, has been slowly getting better.
But his eyes are still quite bad.
I think it's his eyes as much as his wrist that's keeping him off the boards.
I plan on calling him again pretty soon, I'll pass along how he's doing then.

Am I too late to join the contest? I say Mr Ponzie with an ADR in the Prime Time

You're not too late. Really it's just started.
But you may be a little behind.
The ADR points were awarded on the last post,
and there's new points to be won on the last chapter.
In case you missed it, the link for the last chapter is here:

Elbows off the table!

Hi! Just getting caught up on your last couple updates.

You read two updates at once?
Are you all right? Should I call a doctor?

So you saw Nemo!

I did!

I didn't guess that.

You didn't!

It's so hard to decide on a show to see at AK. I think we're going to see FOTLK and Flights of Wonder. Birds of prey are my favorite. But I can see that Nemo would not be waste either.

I think that any Disney show is worth seeing at least once.
But after that.... well......
For me personally, once I've seen a show,
I don't really feel the need to see it over and over again.
Mind you, this doesn't apply for movies... provided it's one I really liked.
Maybe if a Disney show hit me on a gut level like some movies have... who knows?

Plus, if Ruby or the DDs come with me next time, and they want to see Nemo,
then I'd gladly sit through it again for their sake.

I'm not really looking forward to seeing all those construction walls but I guess it's better than seeing them building toothpicks.

I don't know. Have you ever seen a toothpick being built?
I bet it's fascinating.

or not.

Hey, don't feel bad about eating all those Zebra Domes. You're only human.

I would prefer to be thought of as a Zebra Dome eating machine.

I can see from what's left of the hat that the view will be improved. I didn't necessarily mind the had (my son loves Sorcerer Mickey) but it will be nice to see the Chinese theater at the entrance.

The way I see it is, they went to all that trouble to recreate the Chinese theater,
and to have it right in your sight line as you enter the park
at the end of Hollywood Blvd...

Then they hide it. :sad2:

I love how you describe your nervousness about your Dis meet. Glad you had a nice time.

I really did feel like a little kid wondering if Santa was going to come.
I'm just glad I didn't fall asleep before they showed up.
Possibly my endless head swivelling had something to do with that?

But the real question is, why is the carriage a carriage still?

Shouldn't it be a pumpkin?

I suppose you could argue that it wasn't midnight yet
so that's why it hadn't metamorphosed back into a pumpkin.

So, wait.
Doesn't that mean that if Cinderella drives her carriage west at just over 1,000mph
she'd never have to worry about the clock striking midnight and it changing back into a pumpkin?
So shouldn't she ask her fairy godmother for a rocket propelled carriage?
Wouldn't a rocket engine be simpler than changing a mouse into a horse,
for instance?

Maybe there's a fuel supply issue.

Are we overthinking this just a little?

All we can say for certain is that I have far too much time on my hands
and I got to use the word 'metamorphose' in a sentence.

Yes, way too much time, and yes, what are the odds you will ever get to use it again!

Moving on...

I hope so.

I got to the LMA seating area and made sure I was seated under the overhang.
I wasn't really sure what to expect from this show.
(Well, I was expecting rain any second, but...)
I'd seen pictures, and had read descriptions, but...

I was not disappointed.
It was a lot of fun!

We watched this for the first time last November and loved it.

The Contest (thought I forgot, didn't you?)

Okay, I did give you a pretty big hint on this one.
But only if you were really, really paying attention.
Remember the wish list?
It had only one ADR possible restaurant on it.
(Because I forgot to include the Cheese soup at Le Cellier.
Consider it on the list now.)

Here it is again...

Dole whip float
Carrot cake cookie at the Writer's Stop
Take a bus to DHS then the boat to Epcot
Try the onion rings at Prime Time or Flame Tree

Just go to Prime Time!

What? You were serious about that?

Oh, sure. I'd had this on my to do list for years.
I actually wanted to do it in 2009,
but the kids really wanted to go back to Sci Fi, so... :confused3

I'm a Dad. I do as I'm told.

Your kids did you a favor. I like Sci-Fi way better than 50s Prime Time, but we were off in a side room at Prime Time and our waitress was not fun. Come to think of it, none of us liked the food, either, but we have always liked the food at Sci-Fi.

I am so glad you got to meet Dawnbu40 and her family - sounds like a great meet.

My guesses, although they are way too late: Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller coaster and Star Tours, because you can't do both Toy Story and RnRC without standing in the standby line for a while.. (Edit: Not too late after all!)

Yes, we finally got internet back, but not until Saturday (they had to have access to the AT&T tower in a neighbor's yard and the gate was locked Friday), but in the mean time, the A/C went out. I was at work and was fortunate enough to get a frown from my boss for taking my cell phone with me into a department meeting (waiting for a call on the A/C). No A/C and no internet for a couple of days - Stellar week. I am not sure if my internet is faster, but it's much less likely to go out for a few minutes to a few hours, intermittently.

Are we overthinking this just a little?

Nah. That's not really possible for me.
If you like, I could go into this topic more.

A lot more.

Yes, way too much time, and yes, what are the odds you will ever get to use it again!

Oh, I don't know, at any time this whole TR could metamorphose
into a radical discussion of space time effects on pumpkin conveyances.

(And that's two times now.)

I hope so.

Just a bit too much for ya????

We watched this for the first time last November and loved it.

It's a fun show, isn't it?
I may not see it every time I go, but I'm glad I went this time.

What? You were serious about that?

But of course!
It's hardly like me to go on at length about something unless I'm invested in it.
I'm a paragon of brevity.
Right?

Right?

Right?

Oh, really?
My experiences with Sci Fi were the food was okay, nothing to write home about.
Whereas the food was quite good at 50s, and the waiter was a lot of fun!

I suspect that your server at 50s will determine whether or not it's a memorable experience.

I am so glad you got to meet Dawnbu40 and her family - sounds like a great meet.

Oh, it was! It was! :)

My guesses, although they are way too late: Tower of Terror, Rockin' Roller coaster and Star Tours, because you can't do both Toy Story and RnRC without standing in the standby line for a while.. (Edit: Not too late after all!)

You are correct... it's not too late.
Now... were you correct with your guesses???

Yes, we finally got internet back, but not until Saturday (they had to have access to the AT&T tower in a neighbor's yard and the gate was locked Friday),

That extra day is called "rubbing it in."
Were you pulling your hair out by then???

but in the mean time, the A/C went out.

Oh, no!

I was at work and was fortunate enough to get a frown from my boss for taking my cell phone with me into a department meeting (waiting for a call on the A/C).

"Yes, sir. I know sir. No sir, I don't usually have my phone with me. Yes, sir. Bite me sir. Yes, sir."

No A/C and no internet for a couple of days - Stellar week. I am not sure if my internet is faster, but it's much less likely to go out for a few minutes to a few hours, intermittently.

Hopefully it'll be worth it in the long run.
But that's quite a stretch to wait for it.

Well, that brings some disturbing images to mind.

Meh. They're just weeds. Yank 'em out and toss 'em.
(How's that for adding to your disturbing images???)

When is the next update??? I need to know if I get more points. I'm in second place and I need to get into first!!!
I had the pot roast at 50PT and I thought it was great! Didn't care about for the interaction. Just had a burger at Sci-Fi and I thought the whole thing was meh. Pretty sure next time we go to DHS we're going to go to Cape May Cafe.
I don't think you're going to ride TSMM because you don't have a partner to go on it with.
Joe said I wasn't allowed to do a solo trip with you and Marie. I think he doesn't want to stay home. He'd be jealous.

When is the next update??? I need to know if I get more points. I'm in second place and I need to get into first!!!

I'll be starting it either Monday or Tuesday.
So Wednesday at the earliest I would think.

Didn't care about for the interaction.

Oh? Because it was too much or because you didn't get enough/any?

Just had a burger at Sci-Fi and I thought the whole thing was meh. Pretty sure next time we go to DHS we're going to go to Cape May Cafe.

Yeah, that was my opinion. The setting is pretty cool, but the food's just so-so.

I don't think you're going to ride TSMM because you don't have a partner to go on it with.

You might be right.

You might not be.

Joe said I wasn't allowed to do a solo trip with you and Marie. I think he doesn't want to stay home. He'd be jealous.

:lmao:
Easy solution... bring him along!

The way I see it is, they went to all that trouble to recreate the Chinese theater,
and to have it right in your sight line as you enter the park
at the end of Hollywood Blvd...

Then they hide it.

I've never actually looked at the front of the theater. The hat was already up when I moved down here and started taking Disney trips, again. The prospect of seeing it next trip is exciting, though.

I would prefer to be thought of as a Zebra Dome eating machine.

Okay. I will try to remember that. Not sure this will make you one of the cool kids.

Oh, I don't know, at any time this whole TR could metamorphose
into a radical discussion of space time effects on pumpkin conveyances.

It's a pumpkin coach, not a DeLorean.

I'm a paragon of brevity.

Bwahahahahahahahahaha (gasps for air) hahahahahahahaha.

My experiences with Sci Fi were the food was okay, nothing to write home about.
Whereas the food was quite good at 50s, and the waiter was a lot of fun!

I suspect that your server at 50s will determine whether or not it's a memorable experience.

I can't be the only one who didn't care for the food at 50s Prime Time! Well, my family, too. I am willing to give it another chance on a future trip, though.

I need to know if I get more points.

We've already established that I get all the points. Mine. Mine. Mine.

Joe said I wasn't allowed to do a solo trip with you and Marie.

Woah, I am not allowed to take solo trips. I am fun grandma, and fun grandma always has at least one grandkid along.

Easy solution... bring him along!

Bazinga! We can each bring one hanger-on. They just have to learn the password and secret handshake.
