Canadian Buffoon's Solo Disney Vacation - Update 07/08! pp99 - Here today gone tomorrow

I got a point for a mostly wrong answer? EXCELLENT! I like your Ponzi Rules!

My TR. My rules. :snooty:

I should have gone with my gut instinct. I knew you were near Nemo... We've never seen that show. I don't have a ton of patience for shows, and even less for AK as a whole for some reason. It's always so darn HOT there! FoLK always wins if we see a show.

I'd recommend seeing it at least once.
I'm not a huge show fan either
(actually, I'll be mentioning something to that effect in the next update)
but I'm glad I went.
It was something different... and different is good.

Will I ever see it again? Probably not.

I just found out that there were park to park buses on our last trip. After I made plans to get around otherwise since it's never been an option before... I should really find a website where I can get the most up-to-date WDW information!

Well if you ever find such a place, be sure to let the rest of us know about it!

I am shocked that you even considered sharing the Domes! You obviously have more self-control than I.

Well, apparently not... since I ate all of them.
I seriously considered sharing them, since I really didn't know if I'd eat four of them at one sitting.

Well, I did.
So too bad for you random strangers!

I'm thinking I need on of those chocolate/PB cupcakes now that Andy mentions it. Time for me to start a list! (don't tell Roni)

My lips are sealed.
She won't hear it from me.

For a small fee.

And I double checked... Yup. Chocolate/PB cupcakes are on my list.

Okay, I have picked up a hint since you said you ate a lot. This makes me think buffet or prix fixe meal. My instinct was MK and BoG but I think you would have had a hard time getting that ressie, and I don't think of BoG as an "over eating" type place. I think you'd want to see it though. This is so hard!!!!

My official guess is Epcot and Biergarten. My unofficial guess is MK/BoG. I'm angling for all of those bonus/pity points ;)

Okay, got your guess(es). I'll let you know soon how you did.
But your definition and my definition of eating a lot probably differ.

Mrs. porterhouse for two. :rolleyes1

Woohoo!!! I have a point! I see you're a guy who likes to play by his own rules... I like that... especially when it benefits me!

In my TR, I am like a God.
I am God!

<zot> (sound of lightning striking me dead.)

Glad you finally saw Nemo! It's a great show, though I've only seen it once myself. But, did you learn nothing from your experience!? Fish are friends, not food! Lay off the drooling over Marlin, will ya?! ;)

Well, you just said it yourself. I play by my own rules.
Fish are friends not food?
Great. Let me introduce this friendly battered cod to my stomach.

YUM! Zebra domes! Okay, I confess I've never actually had the splendor of a zebra dome in my mouth... however, by all accounts here on the Dis they are nothing short of pure heaven. So I'm gonna guess I'd love them. :thumbsup2

I will admit that there have been some mixed reviews here and there.
Some people don't love them, or don't even care for them.

Silly people.

How did you know I wanted a picture reference of the men's room!? THANK YOU!

Your avatar.
I took one look and thought "There's a woman who wants to see a men's room!"

Okay, I'm kidding.

It was your writing style.

:rolleyes1

I'm going to get in trouble for that, aren't I.

Actually... on a side note, I made a co-worker of mine (male) take a picture of a urinal at the museum I work in. Apparently this was a very fancy urinal and confused some of our guests as being an actual toilet. Needless to say after an "incident" or two of it not being used as just a urinal... it was replaced. Prior to its replacement, I HAD to know what this urinal looked like! So it's not the first men's bathroom picture I've ever seen! :rotfl:

So what did this magical urinal look like that people didn't know what it was?
Man! Now I'm really curious!

Hmm... shot in the dark on your ADR but I'm going for Sci-Fi! :confused3

Duly noted. Stand by for the big reveal!
Okay, it's not big... but it is a reveal.

Your avatar.
I took one look and thought "There's a woman who wants to see a men's room!"

So what did this magical urinal look like that people didn't know what it was?
Man! Now I'm really curious!

HAHA! Okay, you have me pegged! Well done, my friend... well done.

It honestly looked like something out of a sci-fi movie... like it could have taken off at any moment, blasted through the ceiling, and been in orbit in 30 seconds.

HAHA! Okay, you have me pegged! Well done, my friend... well done.

Thank you. <takes deep bow>

It honestly looked like something out of a sci-fi movie... like it could have taken off at any moment, blasted through the ceiling, and been in orbit in 30 seconds.

Urinal by NASA. Orbiting a planet near you.

<sigh>

Well, I was planning on giving you an update by Thursday.

Some of you may or may not know this.
When you have a lengthy text in the Reply box, DISboards saves a copy.
A little pop up shows up that says Draft saved or something like that.
It works really well. If you happen to crash or accidentally close the window or something...
It'll still be there. Nice!
It's already saved me at least once.

What I've done in the past is type away and when I had to stop, I'd copy the lot into a Word document.
When I was ready again, I'd paste the doc back into the DIS and away I'd go.
I still do, but I haven't had to use it.

Well, I did that. But what happened was this.
I opened up the DIS... and there was my update, ready to go.
"See?" I said to myself. "You don't even have to email the document to yourself from work,
since it's still waiting here for you!"

I was pretty sick yesterday and most of today (stomach bug ) but was now feeling well enough to finish up the chapter.
I turn on the DIS and .... poof. Gone. No update.

I still have it (I think... most of it for sure) at work, but I won't be there until Monday.

So. Sorry gang, it's going to be a few more days until you see the next chapter.

On the bright side, since I now had the time, I was able to create the urinal in space photo (see previous post.)

Am I too late to guess? Since you only had 4 days, I'm sure you did your research and consulted a crowd calendar. Since on this day, AK and MK are recommended parks, I'm going to guess MK and reservations at Be Our Guest.

Time to see a show.

I think that’s what everyone around you is saying.

Ya know, I alluded to the fact that there were at least four shows

(that I could think of, anyway) at AK.

1. FOTLK (which looks like a bad word, but really isn't)

2. Nemo (aka Finding Nemo - The Musical)

3. Flights of Wonder

and maybe this can be debated, but....

4. ITTBAB

ITTBAB is not a show. It’s a travesty.

My only regret, after making this a bonus point question is that I didn't go see ITTBAB.

No one guessed it! Even after I made a couple of comments that not all shows had been guessed.

See above.

It's a moot point since I never went, but it was a distinct possibility!

I've still never seen this show.

I didn't want anything poking me in the back.

Nope.

After throwing my back out while on vacation in Venice,

there was no way I was gonna let anything fiddle around back there!

Wise choice.

afwdwfan 2 points because he asked for points so he wouldn't be thought of as a "complete loser".

You mean we just have to ask for points? How about a point for nice things we say about you? Ponzi, you’re a king among men…the greatest trip reporter who ever lived…a studly stud…the world’s best sashayer… (is that a word?)

So the standings so far:

I got to the theatre just a minute or two before they opened the doors.

I grabbed a seat on the aisle, just a few rows up from the main walkway in the center section.

This is one of the few shows where the best seats are not in front.

You've seen lots of photos already, so I'll spare you....

Yeah, no. Here's some more.

Yes, but never have I seen photos as wonderful as these!

Laura74 5 points

Right about there, I suddenly developed a craving for fish and chips.

Marlin with his eyes closed.

Wouldn't he look cute with some tartar sauce?

Hmmmm.... I might've been getting hungry.

Duuuuude!

Marlin with his eyes closed again.

Still no tartar sauce, though. .

And the wittiest wit that ever lived!

Laura74 6 points

I started to head out of the park,

but first I wanted to grab a drink for the bus ride to my next destination.

I wanted a bottle of coke. Not a cup.

Something with a nice tight lid, so that when I inevitably dropped it,

I wouldn't dump it all over someone, or worse, myself.
clip_image002.png

And so smart getting a bottle, not a cup, for the ride!

Laura74 7 points

I spotted a cart vendor nearby with only a couple of people ahead of me.

Yup. He's got bottles of Coke. This'll do fine.

And you’re so observant!

Laura74 8 points

I have this thing! Do you want my address yet?

were everywhere!

Don't get me wrong, the fact that there were construction walls all over the place

didn't detract from my enjoyment of the park.

But, wow! Sooooo much of it.

I had heard about that. Avatar land better be worth it when it’s finished 10 years from now.

I continued on my merry way and stumbled on a kiosk that sold... well, I presume food.

I really couldn't tell you.

All I wanted was a bottle of coke,

but I was told that only the cart vendors carry bottles.

I continued on my quest for the elusive bottle of pop. .

You make buying soda so interesting!

Laura74 9 points

Didn't stop me from taking more pics from time to time, though.

Love the details.

Where was that? So cute!

Most people know that there's no bus service from park to park.

If you want to get to another park,

your best bet is to take a bus to a resort then another bus to your destination.

And that's what I was going to do too.

Too bad I can’t be the first to point out that you’re wrong!!

Oops. Laura74 8 points

A short while later, I found myself here:

I think anyone that knows you knows why you’re there.

And I'm quite sure, some of you have figured out why I might have picked AKL as the transfer point.

Maybe you knew you could travel park to park but you were just using that as an excuse to scarf down some zebra domes.

Because it's close, right?

Uh, huh. Yeah. That's the reason.

That and maybe... maybe one more.

Yup

I already knew that these delectable orbs were sold in packages of four.

Notwithstanding my love for these things,

I was pretty sure that even I could only eat one or two of them in one sitting.

But I had a plan!

I would purchase my four incredible comestibles and then look for a young couple with a child.

I would then offer to share my just desserts with them.

This is very admirable.

Laura74 9 points

But 1) even I who isn’t particularly crazy about zebra domes or sweets in general could eat 4 of those. And 2) don’t they have liquor in them? You’re going to give one to a young child?

Sigh. Laura74 8 points

I ate it.

I'm not proud of that....

Oh, who am I kidding! Of course I'm proud of that!

And given the same circumstances I'd do it again!

Hello! Zebra domes! Do you really think I wouldn't?????

You glutton…er I mean… how pragmatic!

But four was definitely enough.

I did not buy more.

Why didn’t you buy more to bring back?

They had a lioness for the ladies room.

The place was deserted.

I got to thinking, "I bet about fifty percent of Disney guests never get to see a mens room.

Some of us MAY have seen one at a crowded arena when the line for the ladies room was too long.

You're welcome.

But it didn’t look like that… I mean if some of us had seen one.

And no. I have no idea what I would've said or done if someone had come in while I was taking this picture!
clip_image004.png

(Note. I did not attempt to photograph the ladies room. There are limits.)

You’re so chivalrous.

Laura74 9 points

And at 12:42 the bus hove into view.

Hove?

Cast your votes!

And thanks for reading!
clip_image006.png

A most excellent chapter, Ponzi! Some of your best work!

Sorry to hear that you've had the stomach bug - yuck! But glad you're doing better! :goodvibes

Sorry, also, to hear about the Great Disappearing Update! :sad2: HOWEVER, you did a mighty fine job of nabbing a perfect shot of the NASA urinal! The leadership team at work is really going to regret getting rid of it after its fame has landed on a pkondz
TR! ::yes::

Am I too late to guess?

Well, you might've been if I didn't have my "little issue" with the DIS.
So, no. You're not too late.

Since you only had 4 days, I'm sure you did your research and consulted a crowd calendar.

I did... and then I ignored it.
I think everyday was listed at a 3.
So I didn't worry too much about basing parks on the (non-existent) crowds
and picked based on what I felt like doing instead.

Did it work?
I suppose the rest of the TR will answer that.

Since on this day, AK and MK are recommended parks, I'm going to guess MK and reservations at Be Our Guest.

Copy.
I'll let ya know how you did... hmmmm.... Monday? Tuesday at the latest.

I think that’s what everyone around you is saying.

They should. I am nothing if not entertaining.
(Yeah. Right. People, when they notice me at all, usually point and say "Booooooring!")

ITTBAB is not a show. It’s a travesty.

Thank you! Choice justified!

You mean we just have to ask for points? How about a point for nice things we say about you? Ponzi, you’re a king among men…the greatest trip reporter who ever lived…a studly stud…the world’s best sashayer… (is that a word?)

I think I can pretty much guarantee you some points.

This is one of the few shows where the best seats are not in front.

I had no idea when I sat down.
It became obvious a little later on, of course.
But at the time? No clue!

Yes, but never have I seen photos as wonderful as these!

Laura74 5 points

And the wittiest wit that ever lived!

Laura74 6 points

Laura74 8 points

Oh, now you're just plain getting greedy!

I have this thing! Do you want my address yet?

:lmao: Well you're certainly giving orangecats2 a run!

Must tell you that this is the first post that I made (yes made) Ruby read.
She was laughing along with me.

Avatar land better be worth it when it’s finished 10 years from now.

By then, nobody will even know what Avatar was.
"Avatar? Oh, sure. That's the little picture that shows up with your username, right?"

Where was that? So cute!

Somewhere between Dinoland and Discovery Island.
I'm thinking it's the back of Flame Tree?
Somewhere around there anyway.

I think anyone that knows you knows why you’re there.

For the ambiance!

Maybe you knew you could travel park to park but you were just using that as an excuse to scarf down some zebra domes.

Actually, this is just about true.
I really didn't know you could travel park to park by bus.
But even if I'd known, I still would've popped in here first!

even I who isn’t particularly crazy about zebra domes or sweets in general could eat 4 of those.

Porterhouse for two anyone? :rolleyes1

don’t they have liquor in them? You’re going to give one to a young child?

I never really thought about that, but since they don't restrict them,
I would guess that most of the alcohol is baked out?

Still.....
"Ohhhh, my head."
"What's the matter, dude?"
"I got hammered last night."
"Yeah, you were pretty wasted last night. Jello shots?"
"Zebra domes."

Why didn’t you buy more to bring back?

Space.
As in I didn't have any.
Plus, when I finished the fourth one... oddly enough I wasn't in the mood for more just then.
I also didn't want to lug them around for the rest of the day.

Still not sure why I didn't go back later....
Time constraints, I suppose.

Some of us MAY have seen one at a crowded arena when the line for the ladies room was too long.

:lmao: Laura!

But it didn’t look like that… I mean if some of us had seen one.

If.
Uh, huh.
Sure.
Right.

Laura!

Past tense of heaved.
Naut. to move in a certain direction or into a certain position or situation
Happy now?

A most excellent chapter, Ponzi! Some of your best work!

Thanks Laura! :goodvibes

Laura74 10 points.

What did I say about getting greedy? You're risking the points that I'm about to give you!

Sorry to hear that you've had the stomach bug - yuck! But glad you're doing better! :goodvibes

It wasn't much fun.
Managed some toast this morning..... then a cupcake.

That last might have been a mistake.

Sorry, also, to hear about the Great Disappearing Update! :sad2:

I was not amused. I was like <rubs hands together> "Okay! Let's get this puppy posted!"

Then.... nothing. :sad2:

HOWEVER, you did a mighty fine job of nabbing a perfect shot of the NASA urinal!

Telescope + camera + timing.
Easy as pi.

The leadership team at work is really going to regret getting rid of it after its fame has landed on a pkondz TR! ::yes::

I want full credit... and possibly some royalties, too.

Marie and I have a DIS meet today for lunch!!! I'm excited! It's only my second meet up ever!!!

Ponzi how could you lose the update??? That's such a Nebo move! Maybe it's because you turned 50?

Happy Pi Day!!!

I had never seen Finding Nemo before.

Me neither. And then it happened. I saw it and felt trapped in there and didn't care if Nemo was ever found. In fact, I wouldn't have been sad if he had showed up on a plate at the Coral Reef.

Wouldn't it be weird if a complete stranger walked up to you and offered you his leftovers?

:rotfl2:
I will go with yes.

Wait, if he's entertaining I'll go with no.

As far as I know (I'll know for sure Monday about 3pm) it's not lost.
I'm almost positive I saved it to Word.
If I didn't.... oh..... poop.

Happy Pi Day!!!

Somebody got it!
I put it out there and thought, "I wonder if a) anyone will even notice and;
b) will anyone get it's not a typo?"

Now I know.

Effort not in vain!

I saw it and felt trapped in there and didn't care if Nemo was ever found. In fact, I wouldn't have been sad if he had showed up on a plate at the Corral Reef.

:lmao: See? See? Tartar sauce!

I will go with yes.

Wait, if he's entertaining I'll go with no.

So that rules me out, then.
Once again, pkondz is forced to eat all the zebra domes...

I know, right?
Details like that... only in Disney.

Hello? Anyone home?

Not me.
Work called. They were short this evening.
Could I come in? Hmmmm.... feeling okay.... Yes.

Guess what I found?

I knew I'd saved it.

Might have something out a little sooner than I thought. :)

I know, right?
Details like that... only in Disney.

I know, eh? It is a great shot pkondz.
:lmao: See? See? Tartar sauce!

Now one day you will just fix my typos. I would ask you to fix my typo but the last time I asked you to do that, you annoyed me for days on end. Fix my typo! Laughing.

So that rules me out, then.

Whatever.

Hey, you know who the love of my life is, but he just doesn't know it :sad2: and he's married.------------Jeff Van Gundy.

Once again, pkondz is forced to eat all the zebra domes...

Poor pkondz. Poor, poor pkondz.

Why, thank you kindly, ma'am.

Now one day you will just fix my typos. I would ask you to fix my typo. But the last time I asked you to do that, you annoyed me for days on end. Laughing.

I would never do that. Me???? Naw....
Besides, if I really wanted to draw attention to it, I would've simply responded "OK".
But I didn't want to start a gunfight...

:rolleyes1

Hey, you know who the love of my life is, but he just doesn't know it :sad2: and he's married.------------Jeff Van Gundy.

Who the heck is Jeff Van Gundy?
I Googled, but... the ESPN commentator?
What's the attraction?

(I'm gonna hate myself for asking, aren't I?)

Poor pkondz. Poor, poor pkondz.

A travesty of epic proportions.
Truly.

Is there a way of keeping colours, while quoting, without doing it manually and wanting to whip the computer across the room? Is there?

I would've simply responded "OK".

Really that's all you got? Really? :rolleyes1

No, you're not going to hate yourself - unless you already do.:bored:

First, he has a certain je ne sais quoi. Second any man that would hang on to Alonzo Mourning's giant leg to get into the action despite being five foot_____, well he is a keeper. Three, he says what he wants - who cares. Fourth, he is absolutely hysterical BUT, and here is the key, he knows when to be serious.

Is there a way of keeping colours, while quoting, without doing it manually and wanting to whip the computer across the room? Is there?
Well obviously there is but I found it by accident and still have no clue. :badpc:

Hope work
is slow and an update is a comin'.:cloud9:
