Canadian Buffoon's Solo Disney Vacation - Update 07/08! pp99 - Here today gone tomorrow

You're off to MK. ADR at Crystal Palace. :hippie: (Yeah, like I really know......)

I didn't get any points??? None??? But I want points!!! I'm taller, cuter and younger than you --- I should get points!

SO I will try to get points now. You're going to DHS and you have an ADR at 50's Primetime Cafe. I better get some points! Or else!

You only had ZD's for lunch? I would pass out from not eating!!!

The walls!!! Good Lord, there were so many of them at AK this past trip. It was actually depressing.

Now, we have taken a bus directly from the Animal Kingdom to another park...several times in fact. I wonder if it is only during the more crowded times? We've done it in May and June.

I wish I could get excited about your Zebra Domes...but I just can't. Neither my DH or I are a fan of them. But that leaves all the more for those who do love them.

I do love the AKL though and the theme just blows me away every time.

I'm going to guess Epcot and I'm going to pick Rose & Crown for Fish & Chips since you mentioned them in this update.

Totally joining in! Loving the report.

Hi! :wave2: Welcome to the TR!
You're all the way over across the pond! Nice to have a visitor from Berkshire along for the ride.
Don't forget to join in on the contest.
I ship internationally.... well I do now, if you win. :)

Wait. Technically, if I ship to the US, I'm shipping internationally.
Can you ship more internationally???

Strangely enough the only photo that my laptop has decided to forbid my viewing of is the bathroom.... clearly I need protecting and my laptop is the man/woman for the job!

I thought it was pretty risqué!
Anyway...looking forward to reading more popcorn::

More coming up in a few days, I'm thinking.
Thanks for joining in! :goodvibes

So glad you enjoyed your zebra domes and didn't waste any by sharing with strangers who probably wouldn't have appreciated them :)

Yeah. That's it. They wouldn't appreciate it.
Yeah.
It's not that I'm greedy at all, right?

I'm pretty sure I am disqualified from guessing...

Oh, I think I can give you bonus points on this one.

You're off to MK. ADR at Crystal Palace. :hippie: (Yeah, like I really know......)

Noted. Wait and see!

I didn't get any points??? None??? But I want points!!! I'm taller, cuter and younger than you --- I should get points!

Okay. You can have points. All you had to do was ask.

You're going to DHS and you have an ADR at 50's Primetime Cafe.

Duly noted. Let you know next chapter.

I better get some points! Or else!

Whoa, whoa, whoa there!
Threats do not work with.... Yeah, who am I kidding.
Threats work wonders.

Besides, you already asked, remember?

You only had ZD's for lunch? I would pass out from not eating!!!

Honestly, I just wasn't super hungry.
Plus I had an early ADR coming up and I knew I was going to have a big meal (you'll see.)
If it'd been later I would've had lunch.
Maybe.
I really didn't eat a lot this trip.

The walls!!! Good Lord, there were so many of them at AK this past trip. It was actually depressing.

Yep. Lots and lots of walls.
But honestly, for the most part they didn't bother me too much.
Just at that one point where I took that picture, where it was almost claustrophobic.

Now, we have taken a bus directly from the Animal Kingdom to another park...several times in fact. I wonder if it is only during the more crowded times? We've done it in May and June.

Really?!?! I was so sure that you couldn't do that!
Huh. I'm really surprised that you were able to do that.
I was so sure that I'd read that it never happened.

I wish I could get excited about your Zebra Domes...but I just can't. Neither my DH or I are a fan of them. But that leaves all the more for those who do love them.

Ah, that's okay.
I'm fully aware that they're not everyone's cup of tea.
And yes.... more for me.

Hands off!

I do love the AKL though and the theme just blows me away every time.

It's a beautiful resort.
Just too bad that it's so far away from everything (well except AK, of course.)

I haven't been to many resorts (even to visit) but I'd put it at #3 on my list behind Aulani and WL.

I'm going to guess Epcot and I'm going to pick Rose & Crown for Fish & Chips since you mentioned them in this update.

Good guess! But were you right? Stay tuned...

um, I really hate to burst your bubble, but almost everypark has a bus to the other parks... with some exceptions (as in the afore weeementioned post) one example: you can't take a bus from MK to epcot or in reverse, because of the. monorail.

once, wile leaving DHS theline for the all star buses was amazingly!!! HUGELY!!! ASTRONOMICALY!!!!! long. nebo said to me :you knwo what it willb e quicker if we just take the bus over to epcot and catcxh the all star music bus there."

which we did, and a bunch of peopel followed "nebo, the leader" from DHS we grabbed the epcot bus, and then zipped over to the all star music bus.

I think almost all parks have buses to the other parks now.. you used to be able to transfer at the TTC 9ticket and transportation center)..) but not so anymore.. you can transfer at dowtown disney (whic is a major pain in the butt)

so.. you can easily go from park to park. via bus, boat or monorail.. but!! youcannot go from resrot to resort. (at least not directly.)

and the main bugger is you can't go from anypark to DTD the reason for this is too many people were parking at downtowm disney for free and then taking a bus to a park, to avoid paying the parking fee... sigh...
this was a mjor pain in the butt when we left AK (park clsoded early, liek 6pm and had an ADR at DTD (capt. Jack's ) and has to transfer at a resort. we chose saratoga, since it was close to DTD boy what a mistake...
I though it was silly that they wouldn't want to encourage you to go to a nighttime venue from a park that closes early... then I read about the scofflaws

Bubble.... burst.
I was so sure.
Oh, well. I once thought the world was round, too, but when I fell off the edge I learned different, let me tell you!
(Good thing I caught myself before being flung into the abyss.)
I wonder where I got that idea from?

I did know that... sort of.
I remember reading about it, but kind of shelved it since I thought it was very unlikely (of me, I mean) that I'd go from a park to DTD.
Maybe that's what I was thinking of and it got turned around in my head.
Wouldn't be the first time!

For some reason I also thought you couldn't go from park to park by bus.? So you weren't the only one.

You're going to ... hmm... er.., EPCOT for Soarin' fastpass and dinner at Chefs de France. That's what I would have done, anyway.

I got a RANDOM POINT! Woohoo!

Good luck to all participants! And remember, fighting fair is strictly discouraged!

There, I'm done in. I'm a rule follower and everyone else is not going to play fair.

and maybe this can be debated, but....
4. ITTBAB

I would gladly debate this issue all day long if you would just tell me what ITTBAB is.

Marlin with his eyes closed.
Wouldn't he look cute with some tartar sauce?
Hmmmm.... I might've been getting hungry.

Evidently I don't love seafood like you love seafood, because I don't see "tasty" here.

were everywhere!

Don't get me wrong, the fact that there were construction walls all over the place
didn't detract from my enjoyment of the park.
But, wow! Sooooo much of it.

They were all over in November when we were there, too. I was pretty unhappy about it until I got on the safari ride and forgot all about it.

And... There they were!

IMG_0469_zps4ctenoow.jpg

A chorus of hallelujahs rang out.
Might've been me. Might not've been.

You were singing the Hallelujah Chorus? So it's a religious experience you get from these.

I ate it.
I'm not proud of that....
Oh, who am I kidding! Of course I'm proud of that!
And given the same circumstances I'd do it again!
Hello! Zebra domes! Do you really think I wouldn't?????

Nobody here really and truly thought you were going to share any of your ZDs with a stranger. Heck, had your family been there, you wouldn't have shared with them.
I can't say that I blame you. If i happen to win a prize (Cadbury chocolate!) then I will only give you my office address so that my family never knows... and I don't have to share.

Just read your intro. How did I never read any of your TRs before? I'm so in!!!

FOTLK (which looks like a bad word, but really isn't)
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that.

After throwing my back out while on vacation in Venice,
there was no way I was gonna let anything fiddle around back there!
But those seats are more like one of those massage chairs.

afwdwfan 2 points because he asked for points so he wouldn't be thought of as a "complete loser".
Sweet! Being pathetic gets rewarded!!!

Right about there, I suddenly developed a craving for fish and chips.
I can see how that might be.

Wouldn't he look cute with some tartar sauce?
Hmmmm.... I might've been getting hungry.
Ok, we get it. You're hungry. Too bad... Flame Tree was closed when you were there, wasn't it?

There was one thing that was really prevalent in AK.
Something that you couldn't help but notice.

These:
At least they're festive looking construction walls. The graffiti is certainly nicer than any you'd find at most construction sites.

Given more days, I would have spent more time there.
But the time I did have was pretty darned good.
::yes::

Not because I didn't take the time to, well, note the time.
But because there was literally no wait.
I walked up to the bus stop as the bus was pulling up to it.
There were maybe four people waiting and by the time they got on,
I arrived at the bus doors and climbed in.
That's the best kind of wait!

Ya know... I could probably eat one more.
These things are plenty rich, but... I hadn't eaten anything today, so...
They really don't look very big.

Remember the scene in Jurassic Park (yeah I know... Universal, not Disney)
where one second there's a tied up goat and the next... there just isn't?
So, you're comparing it to me with a chocolate peanut butter cupcake at Starring Rolls. :rolleyes1

Wouldn't it be weird if a complete stranger walked up to you and offered you his leftovers?

I know I would find that weird.

Yeah. It'd be weird.

Yeah.
Totally weird. You might get shot with pepper spray or something if you pull something like that.

I ate it.
I'm not proud of that....
Oh, who am I kidding! Of course I'm proud of that!
And given the same circumstances I'd do it again!
Heck yeah! I mean, no breakfast... it's really lunch time. And still all you've had to eat is 4 little, tiny zebra domes. Almost doesn't seem adequate.

I want some right now, though.
I've never had them, but the way you describe them, I do too!

Bonus points!
Where am I going?
I've got an ADR... Where is it?
I have to say, I kind of like Kathy's pick. But I guess I need to come up with something different. So...

I don't think this has been picked... maybe it has, I'm in a hurry and had to skim through replies... but I'm going with MK and Pecos Bill.

I am guessing ADRs at Coral Reef in Epcot. And thank you... I have now seen the inside of a men's room at Disney.:fish:

Bonus points!
Where am I going?
I've got an ADR... Where is it?

I'll narrow it down for you.
I'm off to a park and I'm sure you've figured out it's not AK.
The ADR is inside that park, too.

Cast your votes!
And thanks for reading! :goodvibes

My guess is Teppan Edo...

Mike has filled me in on a few things here and there, as i have not had a chance to catch up. I am once again moving offices and trust me, I would much rather be reading your report. I jinxed myself by trying to do a breakdown for the first one and never posting.

Will hopefully catch up by the end of the week! Let's all keep our fingers crossed that actually happens, as I really am looking forward to reading this.

Two of my choices have already been guessed. I was like Kat and caught on to the fish and chips, but she already guessed that.

My next guess would've been Coral Reef since Nemo and them live mostly in the Coral Reef.

So being you're a Canadian, my guess is Le Cellier at the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT.

For some reason I also thought you couldn't go from park to park by bus.? So you weren't the only one.

All right! So we're both in this together!
We're both.... absolutely, completely wrong apparently!

I'm gonna guess EPCOT with an ADR at Via Napoli. I have no idea.....

Could be... could be...

You're going to ... hmm... er.., EPCOT for Soarin' fastpass and dinner at Chefs de France. That's what I would have done, anyway.

So, if we're ever in Disney at the same time, that's where we're having dinner?

Good to know.

I got a RANDOM POINT! Woohoo!

She's on the board!!
The sky's the limit now!

There, I'm done in. I'm a rule follower and everyone else is not going to play fair.

Except for this last bonus question, I don't know how you'd be able to cheat anyway.
(Yes... there is a way.)

So don't let that stop ya.

I would gladly debate this issue all day long if you would just tell me what ITTBAB is.

It's Tough To Be A Bug.
Movie with effects at AK.

Haven't heard enough kudos for it to make it a priority for me.
Plus, as mentioned, I didn't want to get poked in the back.

Evidently I don't love seafood like you love seafood, because I don't see "tasty" here.

Really? There's something fishy going on around here!

They were all over in November when we were there, too. I was pretty unhappy about it until I got on the safari ride and forgot all about it.

You just hit it on the head.
When it really counted, they weren't around.
I didn't see them on rides, or at the Tree of Life (well, at least when looking at the Tree of Life),
or when looking at attractions or whatnots.
When they were around, sure they were an eyesore,
but they weren't really bugging me.

You were singing the Hallelujah Chorus? So it's a religious experience you get from these.

Oh, yes. Amen to that.

Nobody here really and truly thought you were going to share any of your ZDs with a stranger. Heck, had your family been there, you wouldn't have shared with them.

My family? They can get their own darn ZDs!
But I'll share with a complete stranger... if it wasn't so weird.

I can't say that I blame you. If i happen to win a prize (Cadbury chocolate!) then I will only give you my office address so that my family never knows... and I don't have to share.

:lmao: Good plan!

Plus, if I turn out to be a stalker, you'll be harder to track down.
(Dang it! Now everyone knows my plan!!! Forget I said anything about stalker and track down.)

Just read your intro. How did I never read any of your TRs before? I'm so in!!!

Well hi there Teresa! Welcome to the TR!
Glad to have you aboard!

There are a couple of reasons why you've never read any of my TRs before.

Three of my previous TRs haven't been on the Trip Report Board.
Why? Because the TR Board is for trips to Disney.
And since it's been a while since that happened, they were reports on other trips,
to other destinations.
So I put them on the Community Board, where basically, anything goes.

But the real reason you probably never read them is... they were banned in 43 out of the 50 States.
And knowing myself, I'm not a bit surprised.
Heck, I suggested the ban myself for Oklahoma!
(Which, oddly enough, was one of the States where it didn't get banned.)

But now, unfortunately for you, the ban's been lifted and you get to read.
Or, as I prefer to think of it, participate.

So, enter at your own risk! :)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that.

It really does look like a swear word, doesn't it??

But those seats are more like one of those massage chairs.

Oh, sure! Now you tell me!!
(But I still probably wouldn't have gone.
I really, really didn't want a poke in the lower back.)

Sweet! Being pathetic gets rewarded!!!

Doesn't it always?
That's how I've always gotten by.

Heck that's how I got married and had kids.
"Please? Please, pretty please? With sugar on top?"
"NO!"
"Please? Please, please, please, please, please, please?"
"NO!"
"PLEASE? PLLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEEE????"
"Oh, for Pete's sake!"

Ok, we get it. You're hungry. Too bad... Flame Tree was closed when you were there, wasn't it?

Yes. And it was on my list... but I knew ahead of time it would be closed,
so I wasn't taken by surprise.

At least they're festive looking construction walls. The graffiti is certainly nicer than any you'd find at most construction sites.

But nowhere near as entertaining!

They really don't look very big.

Nope. They're not.
Otherwise, I really would have given them away!

Maybe.

Probably not.

So, you're comparing it to me with a chocolate peanut butter cupcake at Starring Rolls. :rolleyes1

Yup. Pretty much.
(Did I mention that's on my list now?)

Totally weird. You might get shot with pepper spray or something if you pull something like that.

Whoa.
That never even occurred to me!
I guess from now on I'll just keep to myself and eat them all.

Oh, the horror.

Heck yeah! I mean, no breakfast... it's really lunch time. And still all you've had to eat is 4 little, tiny zebra domes. Almost doesn't seem adequate.

Might not've been. But as I mentioned a little earlier, I didn't eat a whole lot on that trip.
Except for that first day, at the upcoming ADR.

I've never had them, but the way you describe them, I do too!

They really are amazing!
But, be warned, they're not everyone's favourite.

I don't know what's wrong with those people.

I have to say, I kind of like Kathy's pick. But I guess I need to come up with something different. So...

I don't think this has been picked... maybe it has, I'm in a hurry and had to skim through replies... but I'm going with MK and Pecos Bill.

Got it. I'll let you know in a few days or so.

I am guessing ADRs at Coral Reef in Epcot.

I'm so glad that someone picked that... and not for the reason you might think.
And I'm not saying if you're right or wrong.

Just that that restaurant, probably more than any other,
has some really nice memories attached.

It might very well be the first Disney restaurant I ever dined at.
If it wasn't the first, it was the first one that I remember.
Also the first one where Elle (eldest DD) had her first steak... and ate the whole thing!

And thank you... I have now seen the inside of a men's room at Disney.:fish:

You're quite welcome.
A public service. That's what I offer.

You can only get it here, folks.

Okay, I'm a little late but I'm hopping on board. :)

Hi Danielle!! :wave2: So nice to see you!
I've seen your posts on other TRs that I follow,
so I'm glad you decided to stop by.

And you're not late, you're right on time.
The contest has barely started and there's plenty of time to join in.
(Although if you post that you think I went to Nemo... well, it's not gonna get you too many points.)

Welcome! :goodvibes

You've cracked me up so far.

Ooohhh.... So sorry to hear that.
Will some glue help?
Or do you need something a little more durable.
I think I might have a couple of loose screws around here somewhere...

My guess is Teppan Edo...

Okay, Lady H, I have you down for one Burnt Nebo special.
Good guess.
Not saying if it's a great guess, though. :rolleyes1

Mike has filled me in on a few things here and there, as i have not had a chance to catch up. I am once again moving offices and trust me, I would much rather be reading your report.

Oh, moving offices, that sounds like fun..... not!
But then again, considering how you guys were both worried whether or not you'd even have jobs...
I guess moving offices isn't so bad.

Hang on... so are you moving into the same building as Mike? Or away from it now?

I jinxed myself by trying to do a breakdown for the first one and never posting.

So, don't try to post a breakdown.
Just forget it.
Don't give it a thought.

I'll therefore expect a complete and thorough break down soon.

Will hopefully catch up by the end of the week! Let's all keep our fingers crossed that actually happens, as I really am looking forward to reading this.

And I'd really like you to read it!
Good luck with the move!

Two of my choices have already been guessed. I was like Kat and caught on to the fish and chips, but she already guessed that.

I may have mentioned fish and chips, but that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with anything.

Or it might.

My next guess would've been Coral Reef since Nemo and them live mostly in the Coral Reef.

I see where you're going there...

So being you're a Canadian, my guess is Le Cellier at the Canada Pavilion in EPCOT.

Another very good guess... that may or may not be right.

Oh, and I never said you couldn't pick the same as someone else, if you felt strongly about it. :rolleyes1
