That's pretty cool that you got to see a coyote up close. Though I would be glad to be in the car. A few of them have been spotted around Toronto recently.

I just mentioned to Jeff
that they're here (and there) too.

I wonder if we're encroaching on them,
or if they're just adapting to us?

Maybe some of both.

I think if the lighting was different you might not be able to see the rings at all? But in the pictures it looks kinda cool...3 hour drive cool? Not sure...but...fun anyway!

The rings will be more
evident later as the lake
water evaporates.
I've seen other photos
on Google and it was much
more visible.

Love that area, really pretty. Was the driving really hilly? Asking because once we drove parts of the Coquihalla pass in an old rental minivan and we weren't sure we'd make it up some of those hills...it was a struggle!

It was quite hilly...
But my car didn't have
any trouble with them.
I can see it being an issue
with a van, though.

Can't wait to hear more about the epic trip. I will be nice to be warm for a change I'm sure. It's been crazy cold for May in these parts too.

It was definitely warmer!
About 90 degrees (F) warmer!!

I LOVE coyotes! As a kid I grew up with them making a racket at night... to me it's actually very comforting.

Those are Oregon Grape- our State flower! They are terrible, but the Native Americans did eat them at one time. I suppose you could in a pinch if you were starving in the wilderness. Or are running from the law because you started and illegal campfire.

So exciting! I just used mine for my second trip and I have a third planned for next March but I feel like that's not enough…it's never enough!

While I really wasn't ready
to come back to the real world,
the real world was apparently
ready for me.
I came home to find that I've
been scheduled to work
seventeen 8-hour shifts
over the next fifteen days.

Yeah, you read that right.
More shifts than days.

Yikes! See ya in 18 days

And one last thing...
I think I might take a break from this
TR after the next update and start
on the trip I just came back from
while it's still fresh in my mind.

me to do this...

The friars were behind on their belfry payments, so they opened up a small florist shop to raise funds.
Since everyone liked to buy flowers from them, a rival florist across town thought this was unfair.
He asked the good fathers to close down, but they would not.

He went back and begged the friars to close. They ignored him.
So the rival florist hired Hugh MacTaggart, the roughest and most vicious thug in town to "persuade" them to close.
Hugh beat up the friars and trashed their store, saying he'd be back if they didn't close up shop.

Terrified, they did so, thereby proving that...


Hugh, and only Hugh, can prevent florist friars.

Ummmmm…I'm just going to slowly back away...
