Can you walk to the Meadows pool from Cabin loop 2200?

Mostly asking about swampiness and not distance (ie if you were in the back of the loop could you cut across?) We have stayed in the cabins twice - once in loop 2100, which we loved. We walked to Meadows without a problem (cutting across the loops). The second time we were in loop 2800, which we did not like at all. It was much swampier (I suppose it could just have been to due to more rain or something).

We are going back this August - I was planning to request 2100 loop, but I see it is turning into something else (or at least, not scheduled for refurb). Now I am wondering which loop to request. We'd prefer to be closer to Meadows and not the quiet pool. Is 2200 a good loop for location?

Well of course most things are only a short walk (after all the fort is only about 1 mile from end to end as the crow flies), but looking at a map it appears that 2200 is near the main cross roads as you come in. Walking to the meadows from the 2200 loop wouldn't require much Overland travel. Basically just to get out of the loop to hit the road/sidewalks. Of course this also depends on where in the loop you are.

I think the "Swampyness" is a factor of 2 things, whether the creek/stream is nearby or if the rain is heavy (or both). It doesn't appear to have a stream too close to the loop so that probably won't be an issue.

Now in all fairness and full disclosure, I have never stayed in that loop so I am only going off of google maps and a map found at http://www.disneydrawingboard.com/WDW/MKArea/Fort Wilderness/OldFortWildernessMap.gif
