Can you upgrade your pass?

DH wants to buy a three day pass to Disneyland. The kids are after four days at the park. Can we buy a three day and then upgrade the pass to a four day one if they kids win Dad over?

Yes but you will likely loose any discount on the 3 day pass and pay the difference between what you paid and the gate price of the 4 day pass.

We bought discounted 3-day passes through my work. We arrived earlier that expected and were able to upgrade to 4-day passes for only $16 per pass (the difference in hopper pass pricing.)

This was as we were picking them up from will call before we had even entered, so I do not know if you can use them then add a day later??

Oh it sounds as if it's better to buy the four day pass and DH can just learn to live with it. Somehow I think it'll be him leading the charge on the fourth day anyways...
