Can you tell when your friends are...

lying to you? If you know that they have lied to you, what do you do? Do you put them on the spot about it or accept what they said? Would you prefer that a friend be totally honest or lie to you to "spare your feelings"?

If I am standing in front of them, I would know if they lied to me. But it's hard otherwise.
I would prefer honesty.
But I've learned being lied to when it's something you want to hear is hard to turn away from. Even when you know they're lying.

But again, I'd much prefer the truth, it's much less confusing.

After a while I can usually tell who is lying to me and who isn't. I do prefer honestly as well. Even if it is to spare my feelings, I'd rather know the truth of it. You can be told things that might hurt in a nicer way so they hurt less too... and depending on what it is, it can be something you can learn from as well.

Just 2 days ago, a "Friend" of mine assumed my boyfriend and I were lying to her. We told her we couldnt come out because it was his moms bday. So we stayed in. Well, my boyfriend accidentally left up the wrong away message...it read "Out with John". Long story short, she wound up leaving a really nasty voicemail which sparked a huge fight that potentially ended a friendship.
My advice is NEVER assume they are lying. I'd confront, but in a civil way. Ask flat out whats the deal.
